Computer Problems

I am having horrible computer problems and I don't know from where.

What's happening, at any given random moment either in or before flight, FS is going like this:


and then giving me this error:


This first started happening a few months ago. My operating system was Windows Server 2003, and I had no Microsoft beta software installed.
So I reinstalled Windows, this time going to XP Pro. I didn't use FS for a few weeks (or months) after that because school and a vacation didn't give
me enough time to do so. Finally, I installed FS and all the addons. I had Windows Media Player 11 and Office 2007 (both beta twos) installed, and
the same happened. I found JayKae's topic and did what it said. Same thing still happened.

So I reinstalled XP again. This time I am dual-booting it with Vista, which shouldn't be messing with my XP install at all (or should it?).
It just happened to me about five minutes ago while I was activating ActiveCam.

Can anyone help?

Make sure the vesion you are using of Active Camera is 2.0 since the 1.1 was known to cause CTD and blank screens. Could it be an Out of Memory
Problem too, check you Event Viewer just in case,...

I too was having this blackout screen problem with only the FSP mini report showing and ambient music file playing when I was on the
ground. I successfully traced the problem to my use of the add-on Flight Sim Manager. After I took it out and reinstalled just FS9 (with the
9.1 patch) and FSP.... things work perfectly! I'd have to say try flying with no add-on's at first and then one by one add them in each time
you fly. This way you may be able to determine which add on is causing offense to the stability of FS9.

I just looked at event viewer, and came upon this, sent from FS:

You got it! Active Camera is causing some problem there, have you patched it to the 2.1 version? There is an incompatibility between Active Camera and
FS9.1, that was solved with their second patch,...

I was getting the same black screen with only the mini report showing whenever I contacted ground after turning off of the runway. The error message
said that atc.dll was causing it so I put the original atc.dll file from the cd into my modules folder and updated fs to 9.1. I think I fixed it but
what I
do now is I first register the flight in fsp and then contact ground in case it happens again. Mind you I did all that about 2 days ago so I still don't
trust fs fully and I don't wanna lose another flight.

I think I have narrowed it down to active cam, as every time active cam was running, and the third time I had just activated it.

I am running ActiveCam 2.1 and FS 9.1 (I thought I was just running 9.0, my I have a pretty recent copy (long story why) so I guess it came on the
disk). Lemme download the patch now.
