Diversions?

How will FsP handle when you need to divert for any reason (engine problems, passenger problems etc)?
Will ATC allow you to do this, or do you have to file another flightplan, and will ATC give you priority clearance?

Hi,

FSPassengers only interacts with the ATC regarding your callsign and flight number. It will suit your airline name if it's one of those
supported in the built-in IATA airlines codes, and any ATC voice pack freeware will ensure the ATC can pronounce the name if it's not Air
France, SpeedBird, Landmark, Orbit, Pacifica ...

As for the flight number, you can edit it before departure of each flight (this way it will suit your flights table if you follow one of a real airline
or the one from your VA). If you don't edit it FSPassengers will just set random flight number.

That's "all" about FSPassengers and FS ATC interaction. Already that's nice, there is no MSFS ATC SDK from Microsoft to enable such
developments in a reasonable time. That's why DanSteph should'nt go further.

So, if you need to divert you just cancel your IFR flight plan and fly direct to the new destination?

FS9 ATC allows for a change of destination while IFR via the ATC menu, and you can proceed direct or use VORs/airways. But you can
cancel IFR too if you perfer, however this is less likely done in real life especially when a emergency occurs.

I know that FS9 ATC does not handle emergencies, but you do have to option to stay IFR and change destination.
