Front wheel sinks into ground -- Arghhhh!!!

Hello captains!

I have a B747-400 from project opensky. When I load the aircraft it sometimes happens that the front wheel sinks into the ground creating
a crash. This matter didn't bother me much, since it always happened at the beggining of a flight and only at the gate.
Now I just arrived at Los Angeles after a 11 hour flight from Guam (PGUM). Perfect flight stopped at the gate, checked the outside view -
- boom!! -- front wheel sunk into ground and FSP detected a crash of course! All the flight time and many points gone...
I alraedy read about this issue somewhere, but of course when you need it, you don't know where it was!
Anyone so kind to point me in the right direction what to do with the front wheel of my B747?

It happens often when changing views in fact. I think it's a contact points issue combined with the scenery... I never managed to get rid f it
completely. One of the reasons why i disabled crash detection

its also something to do with the aircraft file thingy. (forgot wot its called) the contract on the wheel doesnt match the contacts with the taxiway

jep... it should have to do something with the aircraft.cfg... modified that one according to the FAQ on the Opensky forum... but the result
was that the aircraft seemed to stand on a bubble gum... no more crashes but everytime I braked the front tire sinks deep into the
ground, very funny to look at from the outside view during taxi! Pax would have been sick with all that bouncing up and down...
Will do as Dutch64 suggests and disable the crash detection

You can change the vertical height of the nosewheel. It is in the aircraft cfg file.
This is a 747 nose wheel contact point example below. The 4th number (-17.8) is the vertical height of the wheel. If you make this
number -17.0 for example, it raises the wheel visually and effectivly off the ground. This helps with that crashing business. What
happens is that the wheel sinks into the ground to where the scrape point hits and BAM! crash city.

A word to the wise is sufficient though!!! Be careful messing with the cfg file. Make a backup of it before jacking with it.

Quick question about this..... When i land with the view from sport plane the back wheels kind of sink into the ground before i touchdown
on the runway

Somtimes on my aircraft these occour I think that my occoroncers are fs2004 bugs

This contact point adjustment can fix almost every wheel sinking problems.

sometimes airports within FS9 are jacked up where the coordinates are wrong elevation wise. This is a bug that makes things bad. But
mostlythe contact point thing can fix almost all the wheel sinking, bouncing (Which leads to crashing) Etc.

i don't know if this is the same problem but sometimes when i land in the default dc-3 the tail wheel sinks into ground resulting with my
plane being vertical with main gear on ground, this only happens while landing. it is quite frustrating

I have found CG can sometimes cause this in Eric Cantus 737.


Quick fix is to just reload same aircraft, FSP is happy and you save flight and scores.

I have that problem with the POS 747s as well (both the -400 and the -200).

What I normally do is hit slew just as the aircraft loads and then hold down the "A" key until she's firmly on the ground. Unslew, and you
should be good to go for the flight.

I have it also when I use other 747 instead of the default ones
