scanAFD issue

Hello,
I'm having a problem with the scanAFD software. Since i'm experiencing some CTD i read the topic in the support forum and followed the advice to
download that program and to check for duplicated afcads, but as soon as i start it, it says "unable to find the Addon Scenery directory in
scenery.cfg. Please send a copy of your scenery.cft at the author at [author email]"
Can anyone who have this program help me solving this problem? How do i have to modify my scenery.cfg to make that software work?

AHHH! Now I feel responsible! I recommended this program, but have yet to use it at all.


Do you have any addon scenery in the first place? If not, it won't work (I'm guessing here).

Do you have by any chance a non english version of fs04? There used to be a bug in the scanafd software causing this message. But it was solved quite
some time ago as i understand. Do you have the latest version of the tool?

first, Brad you don't have to feel responsible for something because if the program isn't working correctly, it's not your fault!
Then, yes, i have a couple of addon sceneries. They're both from ISD team (http://www.isdproject.com, they're really really good, i suggest you to give them
a try).
I have the italian version of FS9 and i downloaded that scanafd from the avsim site... i don't know if it's the last version because it's the only one
on avsim. I'm going to check with google now.

It does deal with addon scenery also, you can let it scan your default, your addon or both scenery folders.
The one on AVSIM is not the latest one. On this page however you will find a link to the beta version with the fix you will need (just below the
header "***update***" )

Just a quick question... you dont maybe use scenery that was developed for FS2002 as it might not be compatible with FS2004 causing problems. Its a
wild shot im taking in the dark tho.

omarza: i don't have fs2002 sceneries. Some scenery i use have been developed for fs2002 but are patched to work with fs2004.

I don't know if someone has already experienced this kind of CTD but it occurres when i receive instructions to start my descent: after beginning to
descend, everything goes black and after a while i get an error message telling me FS crashed and it seems to involve different files everytime:
gps.dll or g3d.dll or some other dlls i don't remember right now.
With google i found some other people experiencing the same CTD and they stated that it's gps' fault... the only work around is not to open the gps
during my flight, but is quite annoying for a gps-addicted like me.
I thought that maybe some addon plane might have damaged gps.dll so i copied it from the FS cd to my HD but i wasn't successful. By the way i have
only 2 addon planes (BAC 1-11 from DM Flight Sim and Fokker 70-100 from Project Fokker) and they both worked perfectly even before that CTD began to
occurr.

I hope there were no mistakes in my english grammar and i also hope i managed to explain the problem... thanks for your attention.
