Need extention for the VA script

Hi all,

I hope anyone can help me with my VA-script. I hve the problem that some users write there airline name different and then I become a
ugly output on the FsPlistflights table. So what I would like to do is if users hve set up in their FSP Airline name iberia or IBERIA or Iberia,
that the out put always will be Iberia. The same problem with the Pilotame... Any sugestion and/or help

Jay, I don't think it would work this way - these entries are in the database, not in the script itself.

Jochen, if it's only about upper/lower case difference, this can be solved. If it's typos (e.g. Ibiria) that would be more difficult to handle.
I'm at work right now, so will have a look at it this evening and send you some changes.
btw: you happen to be german? in this case I could write in german, makes it easier.

If I am right the output of the table comes from the line:

echo makeTD($row[$dbFieldNames[$i]],$dbFieldNames[$i],$Line);

So I thought it would be possible to use first a command to transform all in lower case and then format with capitalize but I don't now how
the syntax must be. On the other hand I think it will also convert the ICAO codes of departure an arrival airport which would be bad.

Yes, you could do it there in PHP but it's even better to do this directly in the sql query
example: select a,b,c from flights where UPPER(companyname)='IBERIA'

I don't have the script here, so don't know the original sql query and the exact field name for the company field, but maybe you'll find out yourself.
If not, I'll check later.

I think there is a variable somewhere in there for airline name -- If you change the value of that airline name from the MySQL query to the airline
name, that should do the job.

Jochen, I did a test modification just to see if that is what you want to have.

Thanks eazy this is nearly what I am seaching for. If there is no easy way to format like "Iberia" so Upper will be cool. Could you please
tell me where I have to change this. I am very limitaded with my php or sql skills for not to say I don't have ;-)

Wait... are you talking about to where it says 'compay' many different airline names output? If so, this should fix it:

Open FsPlistflight.php

Find the following:
.$row["CompanyName"]

Replace it with your company name. This should make the company name always be listed as one thing, but I am not a PHP expert and have not
tested it. Use with extreme caution.
