I have a penalty for exceeding MTOW?
Why can't we exceed the MTOW? (Max Take-Off Weight)

MTOW is a weight that should NEVER be exceeded. It's true that this weight offers a safety margin below the actual maximum take-off weight of the aircraft (or maximum gross weight of the aircraft), in real life, the MTOW is NEVER exceeded. That's a risk airlines are not willing to take. It's better to de-board a few pax and/or some cargo as opposed to risking EVERYTHING and EVERYONE on board with an overweight aircraft. It's just not worth it!
