Re: [official] Why SWAFO was banned - jboweruk - 30-12-2005 Dan, tis a sad day, but I'm behind you 100%, I've been around here long enough to know you would go all out to give somebody a chance, if Brad didn't take that chance then I'm afraid it's his loss. He always seemed a decent kind of guy, but at the end of the day decent or not a liar is a liar, and he could not be allowed to bring you or your great product into disrepute. ![]() Re: [official] Why SWAFO was banned - Ricard - 30-12-2005 Although i have only been a member of this board for a short while, i have been amazed at what i have stumbled accross and it looks badly delt with by everyone involved. I have stayed out of it for a while but im getting bored of all the secondry posts. Brad may have lied, wether or not he was lying is totally irrespective of the fact he should not have been banned. Some people say he was after a free copy of the game, what cow dung the hours of beta testing he has put in the countless posts he helped people on, if you count it up a free copy of the game is the least he deserved. However Brad must realise that DAN cannot promote the game as developed with the assistance of a 737 pilot if it wasnt. If he wants a little bit of proof show him, when i go for a job i have to prove my credentials, if EA asked to see my passport to prove who i was in order to recieve a free game i would show it. Brad should be allowed to continue to post on here. Mybe FSPassengers should put a posting rule which does not allow anyone to post as an affiliate of any real world airline. Ricard P.S Sorry for any bad grammer or spelling im dyslexic and not using my home computer whch has software to help me. Re: [official] Why SWAFO was banned - Drew - 30-12-2005 Ricard, i think Dans MAIN issue with Brad was the way he acted on other fs forums. ie Went to the feelthere forum, wanting to be a beta tester of there product, as he was a beta tester of FsP and a mod. when he was turned down a beta tester role, he posted things on the forum, that really you shouldnt do when your a mod for another product. He could not accept that he wasnt wanted. Obviously after there members read this post, and contacted Dan about it, and his product. Not the sort of thing you do when you are trying to promote FsP anyway, this is not a flame Brad post, its an explanation as to why Brad has been banned from this forum Re: [official] Why SWAFO was banned - Plane Nuts - 30-12-2005 Whoa! I haven't been here in a little bit, and the first day I decide I'd better check in here again I find this! I have to say I'm not at all surprised though. I have had my own doubts about Brad's career for quite awhile now, especially since he really didn't seem very knowledgeable during a couple conversations he and I had about Southwest Airlines. ![]() It's always sad when it comes to this, but I think the FsP forums will be better off once this whole deal dies down. Brad's attitude towards most posters was getting pretty crappy. And I agree that the forums must live on! I know that if you went to an e-mail only support system Dan, you would be very responsive and helpful as usual. But having a forum for the users to exchange help and also get to talk to the program developer breathes a whole new life into a product. Re: [official] Why SWAFO was banned - vollmey - 30-12-2005 Job well done Dan!!!!! Re: [official] Why SWAFO was banned - SweJets - 30-12-2005 I support you 100% Dan. I haven´t posted much here, but I´m following the forum and love FsP. Re: [official] Why SWAFO was banned - pdjpeter - 30-12-2005 well done Dan, I guess it comes to say that u cant trust anyone in this world that u have never met, its sad because I was starting to get on it the fake brad, comes to show that the real brad may be different. one last question, is there any chance he could come back on this forum and impersonate someone else? thanks for the help Dan Post Edited ( 12-30-05 17:51 ) Re: [official] Why SWAFO was banned - AeroJim - 30-12-2005 I agree with everything said, but w/ one thing, pilots (especially military, NAVY for example) are some of the most confident (cocky) SOB's in the world, and you can't blame em, i mean military pilots fly 300 ft. above the ground going faster than the cruise spd of a 747 or even a concorde, its simply amazing what these ppl can handle, and i know many pilots, even simple C-130 pilots in the air force and they are very very cocky even when they are not in the war zone. Re: [official] Why SWAFO was banned - pdjpeter - 30-12-2005 sprry to say but i dont think thats the time to make a comment like that those pilots in the airforce are keeping u safe now show the respect Post Edited ( 12-30-05 17:58 ) Re: [official] Why SWAFO was banned - lightrail - 30-12-2005 Thanks Dan and sorry you had to go through that. It sound like Brad's been watching "Catch me if you Can" - a real story of impersonating an Airline Pilot. I thought it odd for a real airline pilot to be so insecure to advertise the fact so blatantly in a signature - but never thought he was an imposter. Re: [official] Why SWAFO was banned - crowebird - 30-12-2005 woa, didn't read any of the other posts, but that is some HARD proof, sorry brad. Re: [official] Why SWAFO was banned - silo - 30-12-2005 I've been away from the forum for a while, fighting with my CFI studies and busy with other things. I would pop in from time to time to see the latest news and see if people needed any help. But this....I didn't expect! Whatever happened doesn't change my opinion of FsP forum or anything connected to it in any shape or form. I still think this is a great community and we should stick together and defend it if we want to preserve it. I don't like to judge people because human mind is a complex thing and you are only as wise or mature as your experience makes you...and that is never enough. However sometimes judging people is necessary if you need to take decisions, like in this case. The only reason I'm voicing my opinion is to let Dan know that he has one more person to support his course of action. I'm sure he did everything possible to make everything right, including give the guilty person a second chance to reedem itself. Unfortunately most of the times the right thing to do is not the easiest. But that alone can't justify shutting down the forum. Bad things will always happen but it's how we react to them that ultimately makes this forum what it is. Cheers Silo Re: [official] Why SWAFO was banned - jetBlue220 - 30-12-2005 Quote:WBHoenig wrote: I think I figured out what you meant...I find it kind of weird, if that is the case. Also, I support Dan's decision completely. You cannot let somebody bring down an awesome product that you have spent so much time and resources making. FSP is the best addon in my opinion, and the support for it on this forum is outstanding. Even though I have not posted much, I have checked this forum multiple times each day since I bought FSP in August, and it has helped me out tremendously. Please don't close the forum! ![]() Re: [official] Why SWAFO was banned - Jetsgo - 30-12-2005 I'd just like to take this opportunity to tell you all that (and I'm saying this again because hopefully you can all believe me) the racist and horrible private messages that Brad sent me in which I posted in one of his threads were in fact real. Brad replied to them by saying that I simply made them up. Re: [official] Why SWAFO was banned - Capt.
