BTW: as promised career will be compatible, you can take your FsP database into FsPX and continue
your career.

Only minor problem is aircraft already bought wih may not have the same name than those in Fsx
But you can either sell them all and bought new one or you can edit aircraft.cfg to have the same name.

Depend wich feature will be added it may miss some things if you "downgrade" (FsPX->FsP)

First of all thank you for an update which actually is one. Cool Good to hear you make progress, i been here in this Forum once every month
to hear/read some update news. I also have some suggestions of which features you could include see bottom for that.

Dan, is there a chance that you can get FSX Passengers done within the next 6-8 weeks?
Remember Christmas business will start in September and you wanne get your product our before the majority of the scenery add on's
will hit the market (VFR Netherlands, Scenery Germany, Mega Airporst Frankfurt, Madrid, London etc, Mega Scenery USA to name a few)

Me and many, many folks are wating for FSX Passengers, i was first sceptical about FSX but know i would find it silly to ever use FS9
again, after having installed such great add ons as VFR England (1.2 meter/pix !!) or Mega Scenery X.

FSX is just so much more powerful and enjoyable finally my PC can muscle up.

Comes Christmas 2007 I am sure you get tons of FSX Passengers sales, so the sooner you done the sooner you start making that well
deserved money. I would spend 100 Dollars if it means i could buy FSX Passengers today, i dont care about the money or cost I just want
to have it.

See, dont focus too much on updates for the FS9 version, in 6 month, companies will no longer develope software for the old FS anyways
since everyone focuses on FSX now espacially after SP1 having given such a performance boost.

So i think investing all your time in FSX Passengers in the right thing. And from what i heard FSX done a great job so far getting new Flight
Sim people involved.

Sorry folks but FS9 is a sinking ship, if not quiet yet it will be soon enough. I mean look at those amazing VFR England products the FSX
version is 4 more times (!) as detailed as the old FS 9 version, so are the upcoming German and other sceneries. Same happend to FS2002 everyone swore to stick with it, then not a year later it was totally dead.



It would be nice to see in the FSX versions a few extra features such as:

extended crew announcements
extended service options on board.
bigger variety of music to choose from.
the option of adding additional airports on route to get extra fuel for plane or to stay overnight if you get into a storm etc.
the option of providing business and first class extended service when flying Learjet or such thus making more money.
the option of a co pilot added to plane.
extended career mode where you could hire pilots to fly those extra planes you have in fleet, thus adding more strategy and tactics to the
game. Yes , i am dreaming of crew hire and such but i dont wanna take it far.....

Fantastic news; so glad to see you're overcoming your obstacles - it's ALWAYS satisfying when you figure out a clever way of doing something that
everyone seems to suggest is impossible (or suggest is easy, but actually isn't)!

Hi Dan!

Your 12/24 hr for your own program is a dream of many programmers like me Wink

I have uninstalled FS9 since December last year. I've been using FSX but I still have a FSP (DB) directory backup.
I've been using Just flight Cargo Pilot X, but I miss some features of your program:

- FAILURES (on caps because, for me, is THE thing that separates your program from "cargo pilot" or "fseconomy" )
- Importance of making a smooth flight.
- Statistics after flight.

Regarding FSxP I would like to draw your attention to the addon digital aviation Do-27. More and more addons are coming with self failures (even the
new FSX missions add failures).
Would it be possible (reasonable?) to call an emergency (within FSxP), even if FSxP didn't create a failure, and don't loose any points if landed at
another airport? (maybe the user could turn off this possibility through the options).
The best way of going around this problem would be detecting the failure outside FSxP, but I thing that is impossible (maybe with the new SDK??)

Another Issue is that some aircraft have very bad aircraft.cfg making their flaps, gear, etc only fail at really high speeds. should these values be
able to be changed by the user within FSxP (like in cargo pilot)?

Good work on the new FSxP.

This would be really good! Granted if the SDK gave that information.

Also what someone else said... the ability to hire crew would be an interesting aspect to the game. It would make it deeper where you
have to decide wages and the like, and also the ability to decide how many crew you want on xx flight, and if you try a flight with less crew
than recommended (x crew per xx passengers and min x crew based on plane size?) then maybe passengers will get upset easier
becuase there isn't enough assistance going around, or serving times go up ^^^, etc.

Also the ability to stock the amount of food you think you will need before each flight. And have this effect cost. You stock enough for 3
rounds, then you pay for three rounds... and if you only use two, then you lose the money for the third round. This would get rid of the
problem where there was'nt enough food to go around for the people who did the reallly long hauls.

Anyway keep up the great work!
I do have one question regarding the VA aspect. Will there be any changes to the script? or maybe the ability to customize it even furthur?

Problem is that FsX failures are still very basic from my look in SDK. In fact I'm not sure much things have been added.
If aircraft use private system (internal variable) it's impossible to detect them from outside.
But I'll add all the new FsX failure (if there is some) of course.


I'll review idea when time come, about hiring crew it's intteresting but I don't see much add to the game goal
wich is centered on the pilot: FsPassengers make your piloting action important. Hiring crew is just an
"economic game" not really connected to Fs and FsPX game goal. I want peoples spend most of the time
in flight , not on ground playing an economic game.
Anyway as said I didn't made any serious brainstroming about such stuff yet. I do not say "no" definitively
(but I don't say yes either Wink )

About VA maybe I'll add some value but it should not be much anyway because I must
keep backward compatibility. VA should be allowed to receive flight from FsP and FsPX.

BTW: later I think to make a FsPassengers Light or FsVirtualAirline... you'll miss all features of FsPassengers
appart the record and export flight, it would be really less expensive then FsP and would be compatible
with FsP export system.

The VA export system is really usefull for VA but one problem is that many peoples may not want to get
FsP because of the cost. (and maybe they don't like features) FsVA would solve this point ?

that is a really good idea! Or the type of thing that you create an affiliation with Virtual Airlines. So If they want to offer it, the VA could sign
up with you, and you could give the VA an access code, where members use it to buy the VA version. I have seen other Vas do this with
exporting software. I would not do it with the full version because you will find more and more people joining a VA to get the full version at
a discounted price they don't deserve.

One thing I would like to see as far as the VA goes, is maybe the ability to send messages back to the exporting software without it
meaning that the transfer failed. As of now, #Answer# anything means fail unless #Answer#Ok is sent, so maybe a new feature for FSX
VA would be #Response# Where the system is just returning a message that isn't a call to terminate the script. Or maybe it works
differently and I never caught it.

Also as far as back compatibility goes: For features made for the FSX only version, this can be used:

Already done, somes VA offer FsP at 26.90 instead of 31.90, they have a special code for that.
Only requirment is to have the FSP script working and a link (logo) on FsP site.
