I have seen many reports of people having problems after installing SP2. And not only people with nVidia video cards either nor menu bar crashes alone but slower performance and graphics problems as well. ![]() Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - HB-100 - 08-01-2008 Quote:Urthgental wrote: I will join and fly it later in case FsPX isn't ready then. I also might join the one or the other flight without FsPX as guest. It's all about to have fun and that's possible without FsPX also although it's hard without it I have to confess! I am always missing something. Sharon! ![]() Quote:So well, I am stuck since 10 months the middle of a 72-legs 'discover europe' tour with my cessna 172 waiting at gibraltar to continue the I think you could try to fake something with building a mission/adventure in FSX to get at least the feeling back into the cockpit. If I hadn't started FSET then this is what I probabily had spend some time with. Quote:But two months do not sound too bad, at least there is a light at the end of the tunnel. As it is in SW projects they often will take longer than planed. But that's my wish to be finish within 2 month or faster. I need my life back! ![]() Honestly I wanted to be finish before the NewYear. But well turned out to be impossible. Somehow as more as you do (program) as more grows the work you still have to do. Strange but that's how it turns out always in such projects. I don't wonder anymore that the devlopement of FsPx takes a lot time, specially when I read in what level Dan' programs. I wouldn't want to do this. One thing I can tell you from my own experience with FSET now. As Programer you are glad and happy over every postive comment/feedback. When you are stuck somewhere deep in the code and would like to throw everything at the next wall then this is what helps one to keep his motivation and keep the thing going. At least so it is with me. So some positives feedback might help to fasten the things more than everything else. I know that Dan is doing a hard work. ![]() Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - DanSteph - 08-01-2008 Well... I can't release one FsPx version for each patch, a lot of things changed in the dll. Working on an outdated version is not possible also. So ... I personnaly don't have any trouble with SP2 and it run very nice on my computer. (I have a 8800GTS) Let assume this: if the problem is really bad Ms will release another patch even a minor one. At the time FsPx will be released I'm almost sure *someone* will have solved the problem so I'll stick on SP2 version. I really don't have any choice on this anyway. Dan Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - Urthgental - 08-01-2008 @ HB-100: Quote:I think you could try to fake something with building a mission/adventure in FSX to get at least the feeling back into the cockpit. After the initial release of FSX i expected a lot of missions to come... but nada. I think the SDK tools are ridiculous to be used by the masses for mission creation. At least I expected somebody would come with a product with an campaign editor that offers a storyboard and could create dynamic missions 'on the fly'. Actually i even thought in the beginning FSPassengers would utilize it. WT3 would be a great campaign ![]() Anyway, I think these static missions are not the right approach... Quote:As it is in SW projects they often will take longer than planed. But that's my wish to be finish within 2 month or faster. I need my life back! Well, i think FS is special here... The add-on community did evolve organically over many years. The FS franchise was not really designed as an open plattform for professional 3rd party add-ons... BTW, Phil Talyor once complained about 3rd party developers "that dig in FS internal memroy areas and do not restrict on the official interfaces... Not sure who was meant ![]() Regards, Heiko Post Edited ( 01-08-08 01:06 ) Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - nckheinrich - 08-01-2008 Lol 2 more months for FSPX man I learned my lesson. I bought FSX last christmas right when it came out. $60. Sure I tried it out for a day but there was no vatsim, no fsp so I uninstalled it. To this day I still have not taken it back out of the box. I guess next time I'll need to wait till I know all the addons I want are out before I buy the next version. Dan I appreciate all your hard work. Godspeed man. Hope for you Dan that you won't have to re-write the soft each time a SP is released else you will ![]() I have asked you another question yesterday but didn't get a reply so I ask it again : what about pricing of FsP X for the owners of FsP ? And so we have around 2 monthes left before enjoying this new one ? My god it will be hard !! An other information Dan : I've registered XPax for waiting FsP X and saw somethings very bad like when you're flying at a define flight level and you want to reduce this level XPax automatically switch to descent even if it is not. I hope that FsP X won't have the same fuc.... things !!!! Really great to hear for the new features like seat belt integration wich should be a solution for what I just wrote above about Xpax ! Let's go on Dan ! We are still with you !! ![]() Post Edited ( 01-08-08 09:43 ) Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - DanSteph - 08-01-2008 Quote:Aksakhirn wrote: Ms dev said that SP2 will be the last patch, anyway it's possible if too much peoples have problem with SP2 that a small SP* come that adress only specific problem. In anyway switching from one patch to another is not so hard, I switched from SP1 to SP2 two days ago and all work again. What is not possible is develloping for two versions in same time. Each time I add something I would need to switch from one patch to another and redo the work , this would double dev time and add a lot of complication in code. About rebate yes, there will be a rebate for owner of FsP. Dan Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - xandan - 08-01-2008 wow comments have been flying recently haven't they lol sorry for bein abit ![]() Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - HB-100 - 08-01-2008 Quote:nckheinrich wrote: Aehm, Seems I have started confusion here. Uh was a bad idea to post. Two completly different projects. Regards, Alex Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - DanSteph - 08-01-2008 I plan to update also FsP (2004) with some features of FsPx Dan Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - HB-100 - 08-01-2008 Quote:Drew wrote: oh, I am a confusion maker.. ![]() ![]() ok got it now where you have that 2 month from: (didn't read that post before, sorry sorry, so it was me that was confused ![]() Quote:DanSteph wrote: Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - Flying Monkey - 09-01-2008 Great news Dan! The multi screen support is brilliant, and I'll cross my fingers hoping that in a few months I'll be able to forget about Cargo Pilot and come back to FsPassengers! :p By the way, I think FSX Missions work better for some type of flying than other, eg Bush Flying, GA, rescue flights can gain a lot from it, but it's less obvious in the case of commercial airliners - although one easy fun thing to do, in theory, is to make a quick mission file with some timed failure programmed in it and give the mission to your friends to take up the challenge. It's just a shame that you can't fly these in shared cockpit... A big miss in my opinion. Still, when it will be available I will always prefer the randomness and the maintenance related failures of FsP, nothing can beat that! Re: FsPassengers for FSX official note and please ! - xandan - 10-01-2008 i know there isn't an official or estimated realse date, but when would there be a beta test, not an exact date or anything but like sometime between feb - march or somthing like that would be a good enough answer lol |
