i'm with you dan. i'd love to see one as well. i did a payload model for the D-18 and thankfully someone who really new what they were
doing did a better one. I've tooled around with the SGA DC-10-30 model but either i can't get her off the ground, or she cruizes with about 12 degrees pitch up. i must have missed that day in geometry class.

The SGA DC10-30 is easy to use, you need to have the flaps down to 20 for a taKe off providing you have along enough rwy

Hi TWAnut,
I fly the SGA DC-10-30 more that I fly anything else, with full fuel unless I am coming out of a high altitude airport such as Kden or MMMX I use flapsown 30. I set my airspeed at 200, so as not to exceed flap speed. With these settings, V1 is at 140 and I rotate at 156. Gear up , Flaps up , airspeed to 250 and climb rate at 3000 till altitude. The DC-10s do fly at a nose up attitude. Cheers, Dan

Go to AVSIM and search for dc10perf.zip.
That's the DC-10 manual. Would be a great place to start. A few things you need to remember about the DC-10.... 1. She's a big bird. She needs a lot of runway and speed to get airborne. The manual link above has a V Chart in it to assist you. 2. As Dan said, she will cruise nose up, but one thing to keep in mind is that she's an old bird too. She was not designed to fly from London to New York at FL400. Once again, the manual will help you chose the proper altitiude based upon weight. On that route, you'd probably be in the neighborhood of FL320-FL340. 3. If you have the panel which includes the fuel pumps, make sure you drain the rear center tank first, then use the front center tank until the level is the same as the wing tanks, then revert back to using all at once. This will help balance your weight out for landing. I think the reason that everyone is using flaps in excess is because when she does takeoff, the rate of climb will seem very slow in proportion to your pitch. The flaps can help level you out, but as I keep preaching, check the manual. If you fly it by the numbers in there, she will do exactly what she is supposed to. If I remember correctly, the SGA Model comes with a VERY well written "hint book" that goes into a more detail about the points I discussed as well as many more.

Yup, me needs a payload model for a DC-10 as well. I have it in six different liveries. Only problem I have is that the panels seem to be bugged.
Everytime I load a DC-10, the former aircafts panel is still there, but without gauges. The VC is ok (no moving gauges), but the 2D panel simply isn't there. Anyone know where you can get a decent DC-10 featuring a real 2D panel + VC panel? Correction: Argh! Sorry, I have a DC-7 not a DC-10. Anyways, someone know where I can get a decent DC-7 or any other nice looking 4-prop (or more) aircraft? Thanx! Post Edited ( 08-07-05 13:13 ) "Dont be too optimistic. Hi all,
Eric is right that is a very good manual, but I got it with a different zip file. The file that I found it with is ( fs9dc10.zip) can anybody tell me step by step how to insert an image. I have a great DC-10 photo, but I don't have a clue how to insert it. Thanks, Dan

Dan M-
If you want me to do up the image for you, I'd be happy to do so as I'm in the market for the DC-10 payload as well. If there's a certain background you want it on, great, attach that as well, if not, I'll use the default one that Dan (the FSP man) made. My e-mail is in my profile.
