[Closed] Blowing tires on every landing

But serious, I only had a tire blown once in FS. And that was during an emergency.

I don't know how you guys land? But I make hard landings sometimes as well, but never blow a tire.

lightrail is right, the lack of real feeling maye give the false impression that you landed smooth while not.

(wow, sorry if this above is not clear, 5 am here with a cold )

The vertical instrument doesn't show instant value , it's very slow and if you fail your flare (too early?) you may touchdown with a higher
value than showed on this instrument wich take 2-3 seconds to adjust.

FsPX send 30% chance to have a tire blowing at -700 FPM and 100% chance at 1200 FPS, this is near the "crash" value of FSX.
I personnaly never had one in normal landing and must really "force" myself to land hard to have one. (was not easy to test )

In anyway I'll put this in option (or more option) in the incoming patch.

Remember to cut all power when you hear "10" or "20" on GPWS then start to pull the stick gently without gaining altitude, the goal is to
cut speed and "refuse" the ground to let the plane dive gently himself once speed cut.

You can maybe train with a saved situation on the glideslope 10 second before touchdown and watch the replay once landed ?

I've actually only had a tire blow once, and I know I landed too hard totally my mistake :P Every normal landing without me screwing up
from a little SEP to a big 747 have never had one blow. If you have tired blowing, stop smashing your plane into the ground

In my opinion FSP not just gives life to the simulation as also makes you a much better pilot! The Simulation surely becomes more interesting if need
to be careful with all these aspects..., if it was not like this in real flying and if it would be so easy like landing with 700/900 lol FPM there
would be no need for two pilots to perform safely.

From another hand we need to remember the limitations one can have in a flight simulation, which for many times makes the simulation more tricky than
real flight itself. Key is to find the center balance in all this i think.


haaa if someone of you need a tire or two, my uncle has a shop with nice prices for this next spring

This is the reason why I'll probably not put it in option dialog but in "more_option.cfg" configuration file. (to be edited by hand)
Peoples that really can't sustain the challenge can disable it but it's not... how to say "100% official and supported setting" !?

Im not the best pilot for sure, but i have yet to blow a tire in this game. If you are blowing tires on the 747 because your decent rate is too high
then you should probably step it down to a smaller plane until you get the hang of FLYING the plane into a landing. My landings generally range from
around 100 to 250 fpm. If you are touching down at 400 fpm or more you either need to flare sooner or you are flaring too early. My suggestion would
be to step it down to a smaller aircraft and strive for a average touch down of under 100 fpm. Once you can do this on a regular basis then move on to
a heavier aircraft.

Thanks Dan. Appreciate you looking at this.

I know that FS Passengers in Radar Contact friendly. Is there a chance FSpax is taking up a lot os CPU time - because I've noticed that Radar Contact
is sluggish in responding when FSPax is running. I've posted the same question over at Radar Contact forum too to see if there's a way to give Radar
Contact more priority. This is a big problem on landing.

this blowing tires is taking away my desire to use FsPassengers. I am not a purist, just I love to use FSX.
Please let the not so hot pilots to be able to change the setting the same you have for flaps and other.
You can always to change according your tastes and ability.

This could be changed with the next patch giving you the ability to disable it. Hang in there and in the mean time keep practicing. You never know with enough practice you might suprise yourself.

I've been flying with Active Sky weather for a few days now. I like the program by the way. Just did a night flight to St Louis. And landed the 737
successfully in winter. There is no way I would use my FS Passenger program because I know there is almost a 100 percent chance I would get a blown
tire and ruin an otherwise fine flight for me. This is another pitch for a user option to turn off this annoying failure in FSP. If I get successful
landings without FSP, my flying is good enough for me. Please publish a patch soon. Until then my FS Passenger stays turned off.

This issue really has me at a loss... are people now a days simply content with mediocracy? Maybe im just old school and enjoy a challenge.
Right now I am striving to land at 10 fpm (the closest i have gotten is 70). Are you guys simply content with being average, or in this case below
average pilots. I really cant understand this mentality of "please make this easier because i am unwilling to try to better myself". I know this is a
friendly forum so i am writing this in as friendly of a style as i can manage... but seriously....take some pride in what you do whether its
cleaning dishes at work or flying your flight sim. Everything I do, I do to the best of my ability. If everything was easy what would be the
point?? Again im sorry for ranting, please forgive me...

It's a bit strange to just change a game or program so it will be easier and easier.

Just practice and you'll love the realism.
