Two questions popped up

Hi,

Have done some more flying using FsP now and have two questions:

1. Noticed when I was to change my a/c today to the model with a virtual cockpit that it seems I'll have to buy the same a/c a second time.
Sure it's another model in FS2004 terms but in reality it's the very same a/c...just that sometimes I want to fly the aircraft using the 2D
panel and sometimes using the virtual cockpit panel. Is there a way around this problem other than buying the a/c a second time?

2. This is a minor thing but personally I think it sounds a bit funny that the cabin crew messages about drinks and food comes so close
to each other. Think a 5-10 seconds pause would be great and increase the level of realism.

1. FsP can know the difference between two aircrafts only by its name. You can even have 20 737 with the same exact specs and liveries,
if they are not named the same (ex: 737SW1, 737SW2, etc.) , it will be 20 differents aircrafts for FsP.

Soooo in your case just rename the first plane (without VC) and rename the second plane the name of the first... FsP won't notice and
you problem will be solved.

Sorry... I think I'm tired... too much work during the weekend. And it's only the beginning of the week...

Once the flight has begun, use CTRL-SHIFT-I. You'll find the name of the aircraft there! You'll also find it in the aircraft.cfg.

As Pagir told, you have to give the same name to both versions with and without VC

What you have to know:
-What FsP call "name" is what is in the entry called "title" in aircraft.cfg.
-You have as many entries "title" than sections [fltsim.0], [fltsim.1]....[fltsim.x]
-You have as many sections [fltsim.x] that you have versions of a given plane each of these sections giving what is specific to the version
like the texture, VC or not VC etc...

Give the same title to all versions you want to fly and the job is done.

If I want to fly both versions as the same plane in FsP, on both section, I will put the same value for title

Thanks alot both and must say how good it feels to be in a forum like this one where everyone is so helpful and friendly. Have been in
lots of forums the last years and not all of them are very friendly anymore sadly enough....and one of them without mentioning any names
almost has started to feel like a prison where you barely dare to share your thoughts and opinions of the product without the thread

Ok, I think webmax is talking about having it on automatic, you can choose to have the food and drinks served manually by pressing the keys for
that, in that way you can have as long in between as you like

When it comes to the first question I asked I've tried it now but seems to be a problem somewhere, when I change the titles so they read
the same and choose the VC model for the a/c in FS9 I'm no longer able to choose the variation I want...in this particular case the passenger variation. If I stick to the 2D panel I can choose from all three variations.

The path to aircraft.cfg file is C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\PMDG EXPRESS B1900C but I also have C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\PMDG EXPRESS B1900C-Cargo and C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Aircraft\PMDG EXPRESS B1900C-Freight. But again, I only fly the passenger version and below is how that aircraft.cfg looks:
