First off - Dan - Great job! This one was well worth the wait!
I spent all day Sunday with the Demo to ensure that this was completely compatible with my FS system. As an avid flight simmer, I have
what seems like a ton of aircraft and too many addons to mention. No matter what i did to the system, FSP adapted quite nicely. With
KSFO addon scenery, without, no problem, no matter what aircraft, no problem. kudos to Dan and the entire Beta team for putting out a
great product.
Now that said, after several flight, mostly short haul (I only did one medium 3 hour flight), I did find a couple of minor issues, ones that I
suspect are caused by my own doing somehow.
1) Upon takeoff from KSFO for the north, I went through what appears to be a war zone. My passengers fear factor all went through the
roof. I definately did not go over any zones that I know of that are restricted. After searching the forums, it appears that a war zone was
added to California for demo purposes. My question - when I purchase this addon - is this then removed?
2) On a short haul DH8 flight from KSFO - KMSF (Sacramento), as we established ourselves on final, an AI plane jumped the queue in
front of me, and I had to fly the missed approach. The missed went well, and I re-entered the approach pattern, established myself on
final again and landed safely at Sacrememto. After taxing to the gate, I stopped and open the door - letting all of the passengers out. After
checking my prformance - FSP told me that I did not get the passengers to their destination. Was there a specific gate that I am
supposed to park at, or was it because of the missed approach procedure that this happened. I did check and verify that I was at the right
airport against what was in the final report.
3) FSP seems to adjust my addon aircraft somewhat. In doign so, I can only assume that teh weights and balances are changed. I flew
an IFDG737-300 from KSFO to Dallas Texas, and for some reason, with a 1/2 tank of fuel, I could only carry 39 passengers. I checked
their weights in case the average was above normal, but they were not. This was without cargo. I do believe that this model aircraft can
carry far more than that number. Is there something that I have done wrong in importing this aircraft. I just allowed FSP to set up the
aircraft for me.
4) Again, on my DH8-400 Dreamwings Editiion - everything was good in KSFO - great taxi - smooth departure etc. Nice landing at my
destination, passengers were happy. I was taxiing to the terminal when suddenly the plane started bouncing on the front. I braked,
stopped, then started again. Every time I got above 3-4 IAS this would happen. I tried setting the trim to hold the nose down (not that I am
sure this has much effect on the ground), but to no avail. Eventually I must have stresses the aircraft, and the nose gear collapsed. Not
sure why the aircraft was bouncing, has never done this to me before.
Any help anybody can provide would be appreciated.
