Hey guys, It really bothers me to think of the complaints regarding support . FSP originally designed for FS 2004 was then adapted to FSX ( Windows XP ) then once
again configured with Windows 7. It amazes me that Dan is held responsible for Windows upgrades on software that was designed for XP by Microsoft. So lets look at
the whole picture here.
1) Does Microsoft still support FSX or FS 2004? Answer NO
2) Does Microsoft still support Windows XP? Answer NO
3) Does Microsoft still support Windows 7? Answer YES ( But not for long)
4) Does Dovetail Support the Boxed versions of FSX or FS2004? Answer NO
5) Has Dan by himself supported what Microsoft has dropped? Answer YES!!!
Dan is one guy, doing more than an entire army at Microsoft. Need I remind folks that FSX is a 10 year old program? Dovetail Steam edition has been worked with but
the fact remains...the FSX base is 10 years old.
It is folks like Dan and other third party developers as well as the flight simulator community who have kept this program and it's vision alive where any other software
would have been released long ago. If you want to continue this vision and keep it alive, we need to:
1) Run FSX Boxed edition on Windows XP or Windows 7
2) Run the Dovetail version on Windows 7 through 8.1 unless Dovetail decides to create a 64 bit platform and revamp the entire program.
3) Support those who like Dan continue to support this great hobby.
4) Thank Dan for advancing FSP to run with P3D.
5) If you really want to complain then voice the issues where they belong ( Microsoft ) Let them know they should never have canned the original team. I would bet
they would have worked with the developers , re-tooled and this would be a modern program by now.
