yes indeed it was.
to day me and my instructor took the C172 up to FHB for alittel short/soft feild practice. its been windy latley, wind was 10 gusting 15, but
right down the runway.
took off from CRG, good short feild off RW32. we flew up north twords FHB, flying at 3000 in a narrow coridor of airspace between the
mayport class D, and the JAX class C. this is where the first big thing happeed, i get a traffic warning on the TIS. both me and the
instructor look over to our 3 Oclock and see 2 F-15's from the Florida ANG returning to KJAX, they where about 500' below us.
once we got to FHB we did several touch and goes, practicing short/soft feilds. all with a navy sea hawk in the pattern with us.
then big thing number 2 a Beede 5-J came in with a gear failure. we orbited the airport until he came in for a safe landing, a pickup truck
pulled up next to him. it was bigger than him.
we returned to CRG during a rush. tower brought us in number 2 in a line up of 4 aircraft.
all in all. today reminded me why i like flying. thers always something intresting, never a dull moment
