Cheers David!
The company I bought this from will ship the yoke and throttle today (friday) Will have it in the beginning of the next week. Hopefully it will be as you say, reliability perfect and the spikes gone. I will give everyone a feedback next week. ´ Called the company up (in sweden) about shipping this to me soon, but it has been out of stock for a while. I hope that means that they have improved it even more since the last shipment Always wanted a yoke so this will be more than interesting for me!

I have the thing for about a month now and at first I had the same problems many users report: touched pov hat and suddenly gear went
down, touched nothing at all and suddenly AP disconnected Then I read in the Saitek forum that someone solved it by switching to Mode 2. So I switched to mode 2 and also stopped Saitek's configuration service and suddenly ... no more problems Saitek say they fixed that hardware bug beginning with november 2007 production series, but even if they did there's probably still a lot of the older models in stores.

That's why I'm glad I didn't rush out to buy one I'm gonna wait a while longer.

Hey Folks!
Just got it, tried it out for a flight from Schipol to Brussels (short flight I know, hehe) but wanted to try it out quickly! I had no problems that you eazy mentioned about sudden AP disconnecting and such. Of course I´m a begnner with this peice of tool, and my manual landing went to hell, a totally different thing from a joystick. My question to you guys that use it, whats the best way to use all the buttons, and how do you program it? The program that follows the product, or the normal page within FS, or in the FSUICP? I´ve payed for FSUICP manly for the PIC737 product, but I´m not very good using it as I probably should. And without the pedals for taxeing, what do you guys use for that? The keyboard or another joystick? Any inputs about this yoke is apreciated

Does the flight yoke not have SST programming software that allows you to make a profile for a specific game or simulator? That's what
I've done with the X52, so I figure the yoke could be programmed the same way. As far as the rudder goes, might as well get the Saitek rudder pedals now

Yeah it has a programming software that allows you to make a profile, need to learn how to to it, google ftw I guess. About the rudder
pedals, yeah, I guess I need them aswell . What I´ve read, this software would do some good if I use FSUICP better than I do rather than using the program that comes with the set. I´m not having my computer and my desk at a perfect place at the moment, all the stuff is taking up a lot of space, and we are gonna have a child soon aswell so I might need to slow down my cockpit building progress a bit. A new apartment with a garage would do it though

I've done the whole setup through FSUIPC. The good part is you can have a different setup for each aircraft, but if you do that it has to be done for
every single plane and livery you use. I made most settings global and only a few individual (like mixture lever for small props is flaps lever for jets), so it wasn't too much work after all. Before I got the pedals I used the prop pitch lever for rudder. It works but, yes, pedals are nice

I've bought the yoke and the pedals at once a few weeks ago. And I must say I don't have any problems with it. They both run smooth, although I have
to get use to them. It's a whole different ball game then using a joystick...

Agree with you there DSW.
I made my first landing with this yoke last night, a totally different feeling (a great one) Have tried to practise with manual landings and its a bit strange in the beginning. One question, the Null Zone you can change within FSX. Any good "tips" and trix how to set them?

I bought the yoke and throttle quadrant lately. i can't complain a bit. the only thing is to get use to it. i used a simple joystick before and it's
quite a different approach, isn't it? i think i'll get the rudder pedals today. can't wait

Quote:relichd wrote: Wise choice on the rudder pedals I would consider getting the additional throttle quad,too....unless of course you stick to flying only one and 2 engine aircraft and prefer having one throttle operate all engines. Did you have any issues calibrating the throttle quad? I had some terrible issues with getting both calibrated but finally worked it out. The phantom key presses drove me crazy for a while before I figured out how to get them to stop. My entire yoke/rudder/throttle quads system is working flawlessly

I also have the yoke + quadrant + rudder pedals. It works great , but on my system it only works if I install the latest drivers from saitek. If I
use the drivers from the cd,it will have the phantom key presses (which is very irritating if you are landing in vc mode and the view cycle jumps to tower mode ). Anyone knows when the Saitek PRO Flight Instrument Panel is out for sale? Looked like a nice addon for a small price but nowhere to be found to order. Well, I had the phantom key presses(mainly landing gear extending or retracting at various times during a flight) even after installing the
latest drivers for the yoke, etc. Deleting all of the joystick assignments (even for slew mode) and reassigning the ones I wanted solved the key press issue. I remember seeing something about the Pro Flight Instrument Panel some time ago but haven't seen any updates about it. Maybe Saitek is still working on it. Who knows?

Quote:Joeflyer wrote: Well, I tried to calibrate the throttle quadrant so that I have ENG1 and ENG2 levers available but my registered FSUICP showed different range of values for lever No1 and No 2 so anytime I proceed the levers to say 40% the left engine gives much more thrust than the right one. I have no idea how to cope with that so I went back to one thrust lever for two engine jet. Any hints would be highly appreciated There's one other issue I need to solve - I use PMDG's B737-800/900 and FlightOne ATR72-500 fabulous add-ons. BUT once I registered my version of FSUICP those two stopped to work properly. So now I am in a position where I either have my beloved planes fully working OR I am enabled to use advanced settings of registered FSUICP... Post Edited ( 09-08-08 18:10 ) |
