have you seen the Airliner Pilot by just flight?

Out of pure interest is this a similar product? will they work side by side because the specs are quite similar... (although i will be
purchasing FSP Dan! )

Totally different, okay but this will be far better product. I've got AP and flying it as FO right now but really just twiddling my thumbs waiting
on FSP to release.

One thing that bugs me is it's hard work getting any continuity out of that one. This one YOU will pick the routes you fly. YOU will choose
where to start and in what. And YOU will choose which aircraft you want.

Personally I prefer the look of FSP but it's your choice, and yes they will work together not be mutually exclusive to each other. In fact, that's
the whole beauty of FSP, it will work with whatever add-ons you have from the looks of it.

I have just installed AP but have a few issues (also posted on JF forum).

Essentially the product is geared to default MS aircraft and a PSS Dash 8 derivative which is really tricky to control. It is possible but not
easy to change the aircraft for each career level. Ditto it places you in the co-pilots seat to start (try changing that to the left hand panel!)
but as you're effectively flying the whole trip anyway I see little point in confining you to the right hand seat.

I'm currently trying to replace the Dash 8 with a PMDG 737. Managed to get the left hand panel to appear but no tracker and now
scratching my head.

The concept of AP is excellent, but FsP promises to be better as you can mix and match your own personal choice of aircraft with no fiddly
scripting or config issues (I hope). Don't write off AP but it does seem to offer some peculiar choices. No Flight Simmer with a bit of
experience will want to do much with the "Cessna with an autothrottle" default jets, yet the Dash 8 is going to be a real handful for
beginners (and relatively experienced pilots!).

Although I have not got AP from looking at both products Fsp really is in a differnt league. It provides hundreds of features to enhance
flightsim in general, for example realistic faliures (hopefully on a par with or better than those in Alert Pro), many new sounds and a
multitue of neat features such as the payload editor, passenger satisfaction, full flight reports and realistic economics. As far as
the 'airline' part of it goes it address the users intrests in both running and flying for an airline.

From a personal viewpoint I dont see the fun in a product such AP where as Fsp as a whole seems far more interesting.

In fact, FSP is much more...

But in FSP you have a Career Mode too. When you flied enougg to fly, say, a TurboProp less than XXX lbs, you will be able to fly any
Turboprop less tan XXX lbs, default, freeware, payware, name it!

FSP is really "addon proof". You'll be able to use it with virtually any addon!!!

Actually I just installed the Demo version. A couple of good features like the detailed flight plan and the tracker. Aside from that, I'm
dissapointed with the Dash-8 panel and it's interface.

I just can't wait for FS Passenger! It looks like a great addon that will blow the competition out of the water.

The flight plans in AP are limited to those the developers have set up between the airports in each region (or any user created ones).
With FsP you will be able to set flights up as you wish - using whatever navigation method you choose, GPS, FMC etc.

Just because you were disappointed with it doesn't mean it sucks. I agree it isn't as good as FSP though, but there do seem to be a lot of
happy punters on their forums. I'm flying with it and quite happy, at least until FSP gets released then I'll fly with that....

If you like FsP or AP is really a matter of expectation:
There are users of MSFS who dont have the amount of time, or do not feel like going so deep into complexity (for instance my brother).
They would probably be just as happy with a much simpler add-on, and therefore AP coult serve their needs. I myself when tried out the
demo, I felt a certain anvil too, but true FsP is more desirable for us, who wants to get closer and closer to the real thing.

Another thing: how would you feel, if you had a product that comes out to be inferior in certain ways, and then find opinions that say
SUCKS, SUCKS? I respect everyone that make such an effort as making an ehancement for our hobby, and waiting to see if his/her
invested work is paying off. This is not the question of getting rich (as Dan said), this is the question of enthusiasm or even service.

FSP is pretty simple, in fact, but can be complex too... You can adjust many penalties, or don't use many features... You can use the more
difficult Carrer mode, or you can fly any aircraft, and don't have to bought them...

In fact, I believe it will be used by "hard core simmer" wanting real thing.

And it will be used by anyone just wanting "feedback" or sense that "someone" on the 747 don't want you to fly upside down...

One of the thing many peoples think about MSFS is "hey, what's the goal? No goal, no fun!". Now, FSP give them this goal: make
passengers happy. And it will change MSFS.

Saying sometjing "sucks" is not exactly mature or constructive feedback. I have a few issues with AP and I wish the developers had
applied certain features in a different way. However it attempts to address an element of MSFS that has been sadly neglected (as will
FsP) but point of order - one can hardly say FsP is "better" when FsP is not yet released. It very likely will be but if you're going to make
statements like that, at least wait until there's some evidence to back them up...

The authors of Airliner Pilot have certainly worked very hard to make it and repaying them with a rude "it sucks" is not a good thing to do.

When FsP will be released, we will able to make comparisons, but ALWAYS in a polite and constructive way.

Until then, and even after then, please respect the other's work.
