It's a fine plane, but beware it's not for the faint-hearted. She has a learning curve as steep as any airliner. You also have to get used to
the throttle, as you lose the bottom half of the curve on that to reverse, takes some severe getting used to. Apart from that and the fact you need to use FSUIPC to iron out your controls as a whole she is a lovely plane to fly. I've never regretted the money, as the only other payware Dash8 is not as nice in any way shape or form. Flying for Landmark Airlines.

Sorry mate, hadn't seen the last post. Yeah she's a cool plane, I'd say systems at least on a par with those. Steep curve for a Turboprop
but if you can fly the ATR from Flight1 you should get on well with this, it's a small transition if you follow the procedures faithfully. The HUD is modelled but it's 2d, even in the VC it covers everything up so be aware of that. But that said it does mean you can land this honey in the worst of visibility even if you can't see the runway as you are about to hit it. Flying for Landmark Airlines.

I agree with jboweruk... its a nice aircraft to fly and its also very realistic. It doesnt simulate the APU (if i recall correctly) as not all Dash
8's are equipped with APU's but thats minor as the APU is very straightforward in the Dash 8. From a procedural point of view on their Dash 8 vs the real Dash 8... it very accurate which adds to the realism of the aircraft. Some real life Dash 8 pilots flying for airlines actually uses the Majestic Dash 8 to brush up on their procedural training etc.

I think I may have to add this to my Hanger, can you get Horizion air colors as well?

Unless a recent patch came out adding it against odds. The PSS Dash8 simulates the APU tho. Also see here where Majestic actually answers regarding when they will add the APU as I did a quick search to see if they updated a version with an APU.. http://198.164.146.97/fanda/Forum/viewto...hlight=apu http://198.164.146.97/fanda/Forum/viewto...hlight=apu

Okay, but I'd have sworn I'd turned an APU on somewhere along the line.

Only reason I remembered about the APU in that specific Dash8 is because we evaluated it for a local airline (for procedural training) over here... and all their Dash8 Q300's are fitted with APU's. |
