I've yet to use a Yoke, would like to try one, so I can't really compare the two. I use a Suncom SFS with the F15E Talon joystick connected. Although
it's not USB, and the companies out of business, the throttle is great for for military and civ simming, as it's split. For FS2004, I use the left 1/2
for mixture, the right for throttle. The best part is, since it's keyboard mapped rather than "button" mapped, I don't really have to mess with any of
the default key assignments in programs. The joystick and throttle hold 4 different keymap program sets a piece.
Oh, and I'm using the gas/brake pedal set from my Logitech Momo wheel. I swear, my setup rivals the Frankenstein Monster!
