System specs
Win 7 64bit
Asus Z97-K mainboard
i5 4690k o/clocked to 4.2ghz
8gb ram
Nvidia 8800gtx
Samsung 840 SSD
Maxtor HDD
Windows,FSX steam,FSUIPC full,FDC,PFE,Open Clouds,FsMovMap2,FSpassengers and GSX all on SSD.
Various sceneries on HDD
PC used exclusively for Sim. All progs installed to C in own folders. (not in programs).UAC off. No anti virus.
Now to the issue....
I have the proverbial stutters.
Most of what I have tried.
Affinity mask 14 no change.
O/clocked to 4.5ghz no change.
o/clocked to 4.0ghz no change.
outside frame rate limiter no change.
nvidia inspector with usual settings for fsx as gleaned from web. No change.
FSX settings
Airline Traffic 35 per cent, GA 10 per cent. No road, sea or airport ground traffic.
Cloud draw 60 miles.
All scenery on very dense.
Revolution X for England etc.
FPS locked at 30
Now I realise at these levels I am pushing the system but......and theres always a but.
I have run FSX with no add ons running using default aircraft at default airports and all scenery at minimum and still I have stutters.
They are at their worst when taxiing on turns.
In other words when the viewable scenery is moving the most.
My problem with understanding the cause of these stutters is that with sliders full left and no add ons running or almost full right with all add ons running there is little or no difference.
In fact if I were a betting man there may even be a slight improvement the more the load. Frame rates stay pretty stable at 28-30fps.
If unlimited then spike up to 100 fully loaded and 250 with no add ons. To avoid spike I limit to 30 and as mentioned earlier internal or external limiter makes no difference.
I hope someone can help in narrowing down the what I assume is a bottle neck somewhere.
As an afterthought this was the same using the boxed version of FSX. So I bought Steam hoping for an improvement but alas. So I would think it is a hardware issue rather than FSX itself. Or maybe not?
Thanks for any input on this.
