Adding my 2 cents...
I've always flown without time accel, i'm a pro-"real-time flying" guy, only doing 2, 3 hour tops, flights. Most of them on VATSIM online, so
that's already two reasons for not using time accel.
But latelyI've had the need to accelerate time and now i have that penalty disabled.
Imagine you plan you have 2 hours of free time to grab your FS and fly away. I usually take half an hour deciding where from, where to,
routes, online connection, filling the online flight plan, clearances, etc, etc... So I would go for an 1h or 1h30 flight.
But then something happens in real life (like the wifey getting dinner done earlier or, "let's go out and eat", or a phone call asking you to
get something done... whatever).
I do confess i've accelerated time in uncontrolled airspace on VATSIM after disabling the penalty on FsP and I did not feel a bit of guilt for
going against my principles or the principles of the game...
Time acceleration, IMO, is something that you should use so that your real life gets more compatible with the time you spend simming...
