I wanted to post this in it's own thread. I'm working on a payload for this plane but, and here's a huge but, the plane is massively
overweight even empty. I checked the Airbus military site and have found that:
a/ Wilco have massively underestimated the gross T/O weight
b/ Wilco put far too much fuel in the aircraft
c/ Wilco set up the fuel tanks incorrectly for individual weight.
Between these I could in no way make a payload.ini for this plane that would stand a hope of working. So I edited the .cfg file as follows:
under weight and balance these lines should read:
max_gross_weight = 286000
empty_weight = 154400
Under the fuel section change the following so that they read as follows:
Center1 = -1.0, 0.0, 0.00, 5112.54, 3
LeftMain = -1.0, -10.00, 0.00, 5112.54, 3
RightMain = -1.0, 10.00, 0.00, 5112.54, 3
And that should do it, you should now be able to fit some serious cargo in her. Now I am still testing this, but these figures put it close to
Airbus Military's own estimations. I'm not surprised Wilco got it wrong the darned thing won't see service till 2009 after all. It's still on the
drawing board yet. But try the changes at your own risk and please remember to back up your Aircraft.cfg files before trying them.
