Can't hear ATC when starting fspax in the air with sound only

I noticed this last weekend that when I start fspax when I'm flying at cruise, I can't hear ATC talk to me. I see the responses but I don't
see/hear what they said to me. I usually start it on the ground and this was the first time I started it in the air. I saw several forums where
there was this issue but didn't see the result. I made sure I was up to date with fs9 and fspax. I'm running fs9 on a windows XP box with
the latest updates including drivers ( I at first thought that was the issue but it didn't solve it ). After several restarts and starting to cancel
my IFR plan when I start fspax, it works. Any ideas? One forum was saying that battery and/or avionics wasn't on. But, I'm flying and can
see the guage and KNOW that it's on. Otherwise, it'd be dark and cold. So that's not it. Other forums turned into a "yelling" match with no
issue resolved at all. Weird. Anyway, if anyone can give me a clue on what's happening, I'd appreciate it.

BTY, Dan. You did a great job on this product. I've used you products for several years including Orbiter and FsPassengers. I suspect the
problem is with MS and not you or your code. But if you could help, I'd still appreciate it.

I wanted to add one more thing. I can hear the other ATC but not when they talk to me. I also can see their text on the screen but again not
when they talk to me. Weird. I guess they're shy.

As far as I know it isn't possible to start FsP while in the air, because you must be on the ground with parking brake set.

Maybe that's the cause of some the problems?

You can. It just gives you a dialog box saying you can start with sound affects only or cancel.

Because I'm not finished with the flight. That's why. There are key commands in FSpax that are much better then MSFS. It also has better sound effects.

Back to the point of this thread, I still don't have an answer to this issue. I have got it to work sometimes if I start it on the ground, quit that
flight, and then start the flight I want to finish in the air. But that doesn't always work. I don't see the issue at all when I have time to do a
complete flight. But that's not always possible. I have to fit my VA time between things called "work" and "family".

I have never tried it, so I really don't know why it doesn't work.
