Virtual Airline Info...

I will be using this with my VA. All my pilots will have to have it as well (I am guessing...)

That of course starts off my questions, I have looked, but didn't see these listed anywhere:

1) Do all pilots in the VA have to buy this?
2) Does the owner/manager of a VA have to run the program full time for pilots to register flight with?
3) Does the owner/manager set up flights and schedules directly in FSP for pilots to take?
4) Is there a way to force pilots to register a flight, even if they crash?


As you can see, I have many many more questions about the VA mode of FSP. I can see that this would be great for the VA's, but those questions are
just a very very few of the things that would be required to truely have a VA be run off of FSP. In short, is there a full VA doc anywhere that I can
read with all the VA features, requirements, shortcomings, etc....?

1- Yes, if you make it a requirement that all pilots have it. FsP is user based program and not a server based one. Users will send the info to your
VA site in a dataform. You can customize what they send you by editing a config file.

2- No, you don't have to run the program. At your end (VA site) the info is stored in a database.

3- No, not at this time. You can force your pilots to fly certain routes through your VA website but you won't have any input in their FsPassengers.

4- You can make it mandatory that they setup with instant record but, at this point, you will not be able to verify that. Maybe in a future release
Dan could enable this check (I could be wrong on this)

As far as docs, at this point you only have the documentation that was posted earlier. It's outdated. Not much about VAs in it but I know that the
script can be tailored to your needs.

If you have a bunch of people that will be registering at the sametime, maybe Dan would be willing to provide you with a discount but that's up to him
and his distributor.

Thanks all. Yeah, 5:55am here in Cincinnati, Ohio (USA) and the sun is starting its rise. That info helps a lot actually. I actually wish it were a
server side program. I would love to run it as the server on one of my server comps and have my pilots run through it. THAT would be perfect!

Maybe a future VA version.
