FSX iFly 737 autopilot HELP
Author: georak      123 Posts  Status: Confirmed Pilot    Date    12-19-11 18:28

Hi there...

If only somebody could tell me some clues about the following:
For some reason I can't get the AP to hold a given altitude, nor can I set a climb rate. And after a few tries of connecting and disconnecting the
AP refuses to turn on as it is.
I should state that I have been using 737s from Wilco and PMDG extensively so I am wondering iFly 737's AP works by some other logic? Or
is it some bug or something in the model or sim?

Please give me some hints if possible... :-)

Thanks in advance.

Has it ever worked? I have the iFly 737 and never had any issues with it. I wouldn't think there would be a conflict between PMDG and iFly but I could
be wrong. You could possibly uninstall the 737, reboot, and then re-install to see if that works.

Lower your joystick/yoke sensitivity in your CFG settings to min. Let us know if it helped !

Once you're airborne and have your hands off the stick and are in a stable attitude, you should be able to engage the autopilot. If you bump the
stick it will shut off, (as I discovered with some "help" from my daughter climbing onto my lap to get a better view.) When I first bought the 737 I
was fighting a steep learning curve as prior to this, I have only used the default aircraft. However, between this set and the Level-D 767, I've
become MUCH more comfortable with the use of the aircraft systems presented in each. Just keep at it and take a scientific approach to it, (making
small changes and noting the effect,) and I am sure that you will be rewarded in short order with a VERY enjoyable simming experience with your new
Boeing!

First of all thanks for the comments.

This joystick sensitivity thing is an interresting idea, I'll certainly check it out. Although it seems that only the model 700 is not working
properly, whereas the 600 worked well.

But I shall investigate...

Thanx once again :-)

Yeah you can't move the joystick while trying to set the AP :)
