For thoues of you who dont know. I live in the woods of the Southeastern United States.

Whiel this has meany advanages. Good hunting, quiet, ECT ECT.
there is one big disadvantage. A 500Lbs glaring disatvantage. Wild Fires

Beit Lightning, Arson or stupity. large fiers are commen. Sometimes they can burn for as much as 20years (witch has happened before)

Now there is one burning, but much closer to my house than normal. Visibilty here is probly less than 1 1/2 mile.

below is the current report on the fire from today

Fire Information Report for Honey Prarie
Wildland Fire Incident
Report Date: 10-MAY-11
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Burnt Area: 81,434 Acres (32% increase from yesterday)
Location: Ware, Ga County, GA (1.7 miles Stephen Forester, Fargo, GA app 5 miles)
Cause: Lightning
Incident Team Type: IMT Type D
Team Leader: Mike Dueitt/Buck Kline
Containment Status: 0% contained)
Expected Containment: Unknown
Fuels: SCRUB SHRUB 3 YEAR ROUGH. WILDERNESS High 734469.00 114

This puts the fire 5-10 miles from my house. with the dry summer weather we get around here. ! spark is all it takes. several road
closures in the area to. Right now the wind is keeping the fire from threatining me. but **** does happen.

It is entierly possibel that i may need to evacuate in the near futchure. If i do, i will let yall know, but it may be awiel before getting back on.

Prey for the whole county. Folkston is a old town, The main ST buildings date back to early 1800's. So they are built out of Fat Lighter. If
they go up, they burn like its christmas at the Girzwalds.

Ill let yall know if i am not going to be on for awiel

Wow, fires and floods galore. I hope you and your family remain safe, Tim. I'm only a few miles from where the major flooding is going on in Memphis.
Dewitt-Spain airport by the river is completely under water. I doubt the flood will reach my home, as it is on much higher ground. Even if it does,
I'm in Minneapolis anyway

Since, as everyone knows, the head waters of the Mississippi river pass next to Minneapolis the flooding in Memphis is YOUR fault.

If it's stupid, but it works, it isn't stupid.

Hope the rain comes down on you Tim (the area not you) :sunk: We dont really get any wild fires in the UK but over past couple of weeks we have; with
April being the hottest on record, causing vast areas of parched, tinder-dry land to go up in flames. But like you said having wildfires that could last up to 20
years is just mind boggling.

Hope all goes well, and same with you Joe.

If God had really intended men to fly, he'd make it easier to get to the airport. :)

yep. In the Okefenoke (Cheroke for "Land of Trembiling Earth") Swamp, Alot of the Islands are peat moss. Think of that as land solid
enough to walk on. But is esentialy a floating island.

If the fire gets into that stuff it can smolder for years. Or it may burn into it. And people think its out. Then it will reappear 3 miles down 2
days later

Joe if you dont mind seniding some of that water my way. I would certinaly appreciate it

I'll see what I can do, Tim. In Duluth today, so that'll be kind of difficult. So, run Forrest! Run!

Check this guys

http://www.facebook.com/okefenokeewildliferefuge#!/photos.php?id=109901865696401

thats the swamps facebook page. they got pictures (including some taken from a helicopter, and NASA) of the fire its affected area

there is also some good wild life shots
i saw good shots of the Florida Black Bear, Eastern Dimond Back (Very pretty, but very Dangerous) And great shots of the American
Aligators that thrive in the swamp.

Including one of Fred sunning on a boat dock. He always scares the yankes when they come visit.

After this fire calms down. if yall wait about a month or 2, then come visit the swamp. Post wild Fires is a great time to visit as the wild life
start to return to thire nest. plants re grow, you will see thing you could not have if you went before the fire
