| Payware 757's |
Author: jetdude43 593 Posts Status: Instructor Astronaut | Date 11-23-09 01:58 | Hey guys,
Im out to buy a new toy, looking for a 757 this time. I know about the Capatin Sim 757, which has pros as well as its fair share of cons,
and the PSS 757 which I find has more cons than pros. I know there are some other less-popular selections, but I am finding myself
more interested in the QualityWings 757, which seems to lack reviews, but I remember flying the BETA model a few years back and that I
enjoyed it. Just wondering if you guys have any suggestions so as I can persuade my dad into letting me get it
thanks,

I heard that there are issues with the PSS 757 model? Not quite sure what, as it was on forums and they werent really specific, and that
both the PSS and Captainsim models are fps hogs. Anyway, looks like I'll be waiting for the QualityWings model, unless anyone can tell
me otherwise...

CS 757 after the PSS one and it over-wrote a wx gauge on the PSS 757...causing a CTD when trying to access the PSS aircraft. Once I got
the correct wx gauge for the PSS 757, I had horrible frame rates with the PSS aircraft. I never could figure out why, so I removed the PSS
one. I may try to reinstall PSS at a later date, but right now things are problem-free.
One thing I noticed about the PSS version is that the MFD (Multi-Function Display) would freeze in position after a few minutes of flight
(while in VC mode). I would have to change views and come back to VC mode in order to see normal progression of the flight plan. I
never could get an answer on this through Just Flight's forum.

So, Joeflyer, having had experience with both, which would you honestly say is better? I know they both hog fps, but which external model
is more accurate, which vc is better, and so on? Iv looked online but all Iv really found is screenshots of the vc's with no real description,
and anybody who sides with one of the products seems to flame the other so I cant really think of those opinions as accurate.
thanks,

update the AIRAC for FS9 version. I tried to update the FS9 version without success. With the PSS version, you can import the FS9 flight
plan without any issues. CS's version will not import a FS9 flight plan correctly. You have to manually input all waypoints, VORs, NDBs,etc
into the FMC. If PSS had the eye candy of CS aircraft, I would definitely go with PSS at that point. There are plus and minuses to both
aircraft, but it depends on the user's preference. Technically speaking, PSS is more sound than CS, but as I stated earlier, PSS and CS
can't reside on my pc at the same time, so I chose to remove the PSS one.
If you can live without the eye candy and have a more reliable way of importing flight plans, I'd say go with PSS. Conversely, if you want the
eye candy and manually input the flight plan into the FMC, then go with CS

To be honest, Im looking for a all round good looking, functioning model... Ill wait a couple of weeks, seems like QualityWings will be out
in a few days as their status just got to "Flaps 30", and I'll make my final decision based on reviews.
Either way, be sure to see some screenies of my future choice

any new product until it's been on the market a good period of time. That way, I know what bugs people are finding with the product.

to be a better performer in all aspects than the CS one.

been looking around the forums, some problems with autopilot and holding speed, a couple of problems with installing paints, and
initially some sort of fps bug which has now been sorted out. Havent heard much because you need to have purchased the product to get
to the support forum but people seem to be getting more and more pleased with it. Looks like its on my letter to Santa

Frankly, that's about what much of their stuff is worth...combined

in a response to you other post, you have to have an account to look at the support forum, and a registered account to post. I dont have
either
