I'm not sure if you've been keeping up on current events but the STS is not in the business of carrying pax. It's a dump truck with a satalite
dish. Let's keep our apples and oranges seperate shall we. When you fly the shuttle then DON'T use fsp.

The "Dive of Death" penalty would be the descent rate. I don't think that one can be disabled. Just check the "more options" file though, to be
sure. Yeah, flying the shuttle like an airliner is pretty unrealistic.
300,000 km/sec. Its not just a good idea, its the law.

1: nope not in the more options.
also im NOT planning on using it as an airliner im planning to use it as a VIP trasporter (only one)
ive heard of the space shuttle taking really rich people to spacde.
