| Problem at KPHX |
|
Author: itael 39 Posts Status: Student pilot | Date 10-11-05 09:14 | Hi all,
I was flying from KDEN to KPHX with the PMDG 737 and when I landed the passengers started to fear the landing right after touchdown.
in the debrief it said that I rolled off the runway at like 150kts !!! , of course the landing was perfect.
So I said never mind , it was probably a small glitch and I flew the flight again.
Upon landing (on a different Runway) at KPHX I got the exact same result ... frightened passengers right after I touched down!! , what is
going on ? I never had such a problem before in any airport... the problem might be due to the SImflyers scenery I am using?
Is there a solution ?

suggest you sped up after touch down which makes no sense at all... perculiar. sorry, i don't know what's going on here. I'd say it most
definitley has to do with the third party scenery....

something there but actually it is not, or vice versa

I will disable that option in the cfg file.
I do use the Simflyers Phoenix Sky Harbor add-on.

Yes, funny indeed. But if it's indeed a scenery error, maybe according to fs9 the plane landed before the runway, (instead of rolling
off) and so recorded a slightly higher speed than when it after a short while reached the tarmac... Sorry, this must be confusing, hope you
know what i mean...

AFCAD2, not sure though, as I don't use any of their add-ons.

So according to Fs9 and FsP you are not landing on a runway!!! For the landing speed, I don't really know, but maybe you were landing
with the wind in the back. The first speed in the report would be your speed in the air, and the second the ground speed. But I'm guessing
on this one...

They probably dont because until FsP came around you couldnt tell the difference, then with FsP it shows that the AFCAD is incorrect.
Kind of like before FsP you could have landed a 747 on a grass runway if you wanted to, or even do barrel rolls in it without consequence

True, there are some issues but man there are great addons for scenery which you will miss this way... There is this flytampa seattle for example,
it's really great, it makes it more real, so much more real. But again, it's about preferences of course For myself, i cannot imagine fs9 without
addon scenery. Tonight i bought Cloud9 EHAM... wow, still exploring it.......... (And this one had a known issue with FsP but had been solved within
days after the release)

I can undestand that for the bigger airports, but the GA airports can be quite a bit of fun like the Georender sceneries

Author: Clearjet Www 15 Posts Status: Young recruit | Date 10-12-05 01:03 | I can verify that the Simflyers KPHX scenery does indeed have "issues"... I haven't had the landing issue, probably because I float far
enought down the runway during my "kisses" but when rolling for T/O on rwy 26 the Pax Satisfaction drops like a rock at 80kts...
I ended up removing it since KPHX is my home airport. Waste of money but great eye candy.

being ruined because of this glitch. If you look carefully while you're landing or taxiing at the Simflyer's KPHX, you will notice the dirt effect on
your tired, as though you were on soil instead of concrete. It's a little outdated, but still not a bad rendition of KPHX:

for bush flying, its an absolute necessity to be able to freely taxi on open ground as needed.

Correct, but I believe that penalty is only relevant once you exceed 30 kts (which is rather too fast to taxi anyway).

edge of the runway. Sounds like a minor typo in the code. This penalty sems to be more related to rolling beyond the edge of the runway
(too long a roll).
Just my $0.02.
