Using FS time FSP doesn't match FS time
Author: Gazer75      8 Posts  Status: Young recruit Date    09-29-07 16:28

Hi,

I set FSP to use FS time, but for some reason the time doesn't match up.

Set the time in FS to may 30th 2007, and the date on the flight info says april 14th.

Whats going on??

Is the option to use FS time not working?

Edit:
More testing show that FSP is about 45 days behind FS date when I use that.
Any ideas?

JT

Sorry, but I can't say I do..

And added to that I don't recall hearing about an FsP vs FS time mismatch before. :wonder:

Hmmm, strange indeed. Maybe using FS Realtime may help sync the time.

Having FSP using real time works, but not when setting it to use FS time

An update on my testing...

So far the date is wrong starting from a few tested airports on the European mainland including UK and Ireland, Asia, Australia and eastern parts of Africa.
Starting from airports on the American continent and western parts of Africa works. Also airports in Iceland and Azores are ok.

It seems to be country spesific in western Africa, except that they must be west of Greenwich line.
Mali = OK
Burkina Faso = OK west of 0W
Morocco = OK
Algeria = BAD

This is really weird :???:

Doesn't matter what company or pilot I use...

This is a bug I documented some time back, and it only happens in the Eastern Hemisphere. See the following threads. At the time, nobody seemed to
care much about it. This problem goes away when you set it to use the current (clock) time.

Thanks for confirming this.

This is a serious flaw and needs to be fixed asap imo.
I guess the reason its not been fixed is customers not using the option, or those who do fly mostly in the western hemisphere.

I dont have time to fly real time so I download historical weather through Active Sky and fly at earlier dates/times using time compression.
Only hard thing about flying imo is takeoff and landing ;)

Don't expect it to be fixed anytime soon, if ever. Obviously, none of the current FSP bugs are going to be fixed before the FSX version comes out. After that, Dan will probably concentrate on fixing the bugs introduced in the FSX version.

300,000 km/sec. Its not just a good idea, its the law.

Would be nice to get a statement from Dan on this....

I mean....this is a really old problem, and the fact that it has not been fixed doesn't sound good to me.
Not going to judge so guess thats all I can say for now until Dan comes along.
