Your crashes?

Tell what kind of crashes you have had with FSPAX.

My first crash was when landing to Tegucigalpa, Toncontin Intl airport. Its known to have hard approach and short runway (though in real life its
longer and less hard now, but I have addon from LatinVFR where its still like it was some years back). Anyway it was my first landing there, plane
was 757-200 from Qualitywings. I was coming in bit too high and with a bit too high speed, but I did not see end of the runway because of some
clouds there, so I just thought that there is enough of it left. Soon after touching down I ran into that cloud, kept braking, then suddendly I saw end
of the runway. Tried to do go around but my speed was too slow and ran out of the runway, crashes and some pax died. After this I have landed
there few times with 757, second time I almost overran it again when my autobrake did not apply and I did not notice it very quickly, but managed to
turn to taxiway from high speed at far end of the runway.

Second time was when flying old and ruined Captain Sim 707 Cargo in Afghanistan. On my first try to fly from Bagram Air base to Kandahar I got
rapid decompression, and diverted to Kabul. Then repaired aircraft, and on second try I got electrical failure. However I thought that it was nothing
too serious and continued to hand fly towards Kandahar. However when descending I found that for some reason with CS aircraft it also breaks
some of your hydraulics, I lost my flaps, normal gear deployment and spoilers. I managed to manually lower my gear, and was approaching
Kandahar without flaps (which of course means higher speed) when suddenly one of my engines was shot and flamed out. So, I landed with high
speed, only 3 engines operating, no flaps no spoilers and slippery runway because of winter time. First speed seemed to slow down a bit, but then
it just started sliding and I ran out of the runway. Pilots got injured and plane lost. Anyway this was first time in my FSPAX flying history where I felt
that I could not have done much better than that. Because of interesting moments like this I like FSpax so much.

So go ahead, if you have had crashes or other accidents with FSPAX you can tell about them here.

I think this is a great idea. I myself don't have much to contribute yet, just real stupid learning incidents - but I can see after reading this, it can get
much worse! LOL I hope folks share. If I have anything worth reading in the future, I will too. Till then I am a spectator.
Thanks PVJINFLIGHT, I learn every time you guys share your flights.

There were a couple that stand out really. The last one felt rather realistic and was all my own fault.

I was flying a short commuter flight in my CRJ-700 at night from a major city to a quaint little country airport (but still a major Int'l hub) about
45 minutes away. Hit a bird shortly after takeoff and one engine started to deliver less power, oil pressure rose, etc. "Not a problem" I thought
and continued on my way since it was a really short flight.

On landing at the airport, autopilot was doing most of the work for me, lining up, descending, etc. but that loss of engine kept causing it to change
directions too much for my comfort, so I went manual. HUGE mistake! The second I released the autopilot, I started to lose a lot of speed. I
compensated with more power but started to turn away from the runway again so I reduced the throttle.

Keep in mind, it was night... rural countryside. A hill shortly before the runway crept up on me before I could see it. I didn't remember it being
there before, but since I was so far below and off course from a normal approach I never had to notice it before. I crashed into the top-back side of
the hill at a speed of 175kn with a vertical speed of -700 - gear down and flaps extended. I was literally spitting distance from airport fence!
Half the passengers died, rest were wounded along with the flight crew.

In my last once, I got to experience the horrible default ATC FSX has... again. This time it was a newly acquired 737-8.

In a flight down the East Coast (USA), I had an explosive decompression at FL220. I hit the air brakes, throttled down and dropped to 10,000ft as
fast as possible. As luck would have it, I was lined up for a major airport about 30 miles away and called in for a landing. Reset all of the
computers for the new landing. tuned it in on the radio and started the approach. I hear another 737 also contact ATC for a landing and get cleared
on the same runway. At 15 miles out I was cleared by ATC but there was a heavy, low cloud cover below me... I just took it on faith that the
controller knew what he was doing!

At 800 ft above the ground, I break through the clouds and see another 737 on short-final right in front of me! I disengage everything, throttle up
and pull back but end up crashing into it in mid-air. Crew dies, 100 passengers die and it's considered my fault!?

the only crashes ive had are.................
overstressing a mooney bravo.
thats my only crash 0_0
ALSO: about htat midair collison remeber one thing: once your lined up for landing theyll give you clearnce.
they will only say GO AROUND!!!! when youre about to touch down.
so personally: if that guy is landing on the same runway, GO around or land on the runway next to it.
PS: fsx atcs are stupid sometimes -_-

other than the occasional blown tire from landing my a330 less than "smoothly".... :doubt:

well, there was the one time i semi-intentionally flew my 737 out of fuel (i was more curious to see what FsP would make of it than what the
authorities would consider "safe flying") - then tried to crashland into a san diego highway...

still, 6~8 ppl survived that one (not the pilot, tho...) :well:

and then there was the time when after a perfectly safe flight and landing, there was a disastrous incident where a baggage loader truck
rammed my front gear strut while i turned into the gate... ground control didn't warn me to stop in time, and when i saw it.... :bug: :fool:

that coudn't have done any good for the company.... :sunk:

I hate math. Or I should say, I hate miscalculating!

Thought I had plenty of fuel to make it from NY to AZ but forgot to take into account my cargo + passengers. Ran out of fuel 185 miles from Sky
Harbor Intl. (Phoenix). And that's a pretty barren area to be gliding a fully loaded 737!

Luckily I had just past over Show Low Mun. so I banked, lined up, called a mayday, and nearly made the runway. Perfect landing! Or so I thought
until I heard that horrible grinding noise of metal against ground. Yep... forgot the manually extend the landing gear :wall:

No casualties, but I racked up a nice repair bill :(
