What About Serving Breakfast!!!!! - Air France - 04-09-2005

I wish you could also serve breakfast because if you do an overnight flight and you arrive at lets say 10AM i want to be able to serve
breakfast not HOT FOOD or SANDWICHES!!!!!!

Re: What About Serving Breakfast!!!!! - SWAFO - 04-09-2005

What I recommended was this:

Change "HOT FOOD" to "MEAL"

Change "SANDWICHES" to "SNACKS"

Quite a simple change, and it's UNIVERSAL! This way, you could serve a "MEAL", and it could be Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner! Whatever
you'd like!

I really wish Dan would implement this small but essential change! He mentioned that people in different parts of the world wouldn't
know what a Meal is, yet they know what hot food is. Is there anyone here that doesn't know what a "meal" is? Come on! Let's get this
changed!

Re: What About Serving Breakfast!!!!! - Air France - 04-09-2005

lol your right i agree with you 100% hopefully he will change this

Re: What About Serving Breakfast!!!!! - SWAFO - 04-09-2005

I've private messaged him about this (yet again)... hopefully he'll consider it. The current "food labels" are too specific.... let's get the
generic's up and running! That way I can pretend to serve peanuts!

I think the "Happy Meal" has made its way round the world Wink

Other idea: Depending on local time FSP chooses to play a "breakfast", "lunch" or "dinner" sound. Dan would have to record new
sounds anyway, so no big difference in recording 2 or 4 sound files (including "snack" ).

Re: What About Serving Breakfast!!!!! - SWAFO - 05-09-2005

lol

Everyone knows what a meal is. Dan's just saying that such an addition would take a long while to implement (4 days of work), and he's
busy with other more necesary additions. Although, as a counterpoint; I constantly see people complaining, or suggesting different types
of food be implemented. My recommendation is an easy and universal fix that would satisfy more people than the current
Sandwiches/Hot Food system. I would think this addition would be a priority! When FSP was first released, there were a slew of forum
messages about different food types! Just change the damn thing so that people can stop bugging you about it Dan!

Gents,

How about "Light Refreshments" and "Hot Food".

or.... Just dont serve them and see if the passengers dont want their Sandwiches... heheh

Enjoy.

The potential ideas are limitless! I would like to see some expansion of how the food system is modelled now though! I think it's
rediculously limited right now!

Re: What About Serving Breakfast!!!!! - Eagle737 - 02-10-2005

Another random thing that would be nice... I want to discriminate the service between my cabins... I want to be able to give First Class a meal while
coach gets just a Snack service.... And I really think Snack and the Sandwhich should be two seperate things... Remember AA with their bistro bags...
that to me was a Sandwhich service... cold pre made... but not just pretzels... but when i fly a flight like DFW-ELP with the flight lasting under an
hour, I want to give a small snack like peanuts/pretzels with a drink as opposed to a sandwhich... Another thing that would be more realistic and
common in the airlines.... a different level of beverage service to speed up the process. Most airlines will offer a Reduced Beverage Service or
Limited service on extremely short flights... i.e. 30 mins etc.... usually its a few choice softdrinks, water, coffee, or oj.. i've been on some
where it was even less.. water or oj. I would like that option in FsPax just to be able to still have service on flights even if they are short....
alright, enough rambling for me...

Safe flyin,
Chris

Re: What About Serving Breakfast!!!!! - SaVas - 02-10-2005

6 mini pretzels in a tiny bag light refreshments does not make.

And I think people with peanut allergies need to DRIVE not fly, because of them I miss my free peanuts. before you know it some whiner
will be allergic to pretzel dust and viola we get nothing...granted 6 mini pretzels in a bag (7 to 8 if you are lucky) is still basically nothing,
but I want my peanuts.

And as for hot food or meal terminology, works the same for me.

Hi!
If we are already talking about serving things, what about:

- candies for eleminating cabin pressure effect while climbing
- hot towels after night flight
- blankets before long overnight flights
- audio equippment for movies and radio
- vomitting bags according to the pilots abilities :-)

AND! Dont forget the coffee/drinks for our beloved copilot!!

Don't take this mail too serious... ;-)

Mick!

I mentionned also this isn't as simple when coding time come....
a lot of change to do.... need time...

Dan

Re: What About Serving Breakfast!!!!! - SWAFO - 04-10-2005

I say just change the sandwiches to snacks, and hot food to meals. That way, you can use your imagination! A simple change, and
everyone's happy!

Re: What About Serving Breakfast!!!!! - dtinc155 - 04-10-2005

LoL This is funny, I personally very much like "hot food" for breakfast. Seriously, you don't think bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, and pancakes
qualify as "hot food"? Not that I've ever heard of any of those served on an airline flight... Then again I don't fly red-eye that often. Smile

I do think there could be more options to the food menus, but then there's lots of other stuff that could be improved upon too. (Light
penalty in GA aircraft for one... I can't turn the landing lights off if I don't go above 10,000 ft. If I do, I get the *&^%$ penalty for "Forgetting"
them. ) Lets give poor Dan some time.
