Payload Problems... [SOLVED...sort of] - olseric - 23-08-2005

Okay...figure this one out...

I get this in the editor:

Well, I fire up FS and this is what I get...

And this is the weight/balance section of the config file...

Quote:[WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE] //DC10 Series 30

I'm quite confused on this one...any ideas? And yes, the image for the payload is the correct size...thought of that one already. Wink And yes,
I tried deleting the payload areas and making them with FSP, still no go.

Besides the images being off, I can't load any passenger or cargo. Just fuel.

That's weird. You can't load any PAX because you don't have any at the gate for some reason (do you have a 0% overall rating? lol). This
one has got me beat. I know that occasionally the text alignment will be a little off (I use a custom PMDG 737-700 payload screen, and
the text is off just like in your picture... doesn't really bother me though). Not sure why you have no PAX/cargo available. Perhaps you're at
an airport that isn't in the FSP database? I'm really stumped on this one.

Try your payload model in a company without the economic mode on, like Pacifica Airlines. Are you getting the same results?

Re: Payload Problems... - olseric - 23-08-2005

Pagir, no dice.

I "bought" the aircraft awhile ago and it worked without issue using the default non-specific payload model. I know there should be pax
there because I fly in and out all of the time (i.e. hub).

The text is annoying, but I suspect that is because the mouse points are not corresponding to what it is on the screen. The way the text
boxes jump when you go to move them, I find it quite hard to line them up with any sort of precision, so I expected they would be off. The
pax/cargo loading is what it really making me mad. LOL!

Re: Payload Problems... - pagir - 24-08-2005

Which DC-10 are you using?

Re: Payload Problems... - olseric - 24-08-2005

SGA DC-10-30

The only thing that seems to make any sense here is that there are too many payload points in the CFG file. I know FSPAX only requires
6 and most aircraft that I have (like the Opensky ones) seem to have close to that.

I know it should not affect it though seeing as the default FS9 ones have several points each in the CFG files.

The funny thing is, it's not saving correctly either. When I save it, and then open it up again in the editor, it's back to the original default
configuration. All of the stuff that I entered has mysteriously vanished and reset. I thought, okay, file is read-only or some stupid crap like
that. So, I opened it, deleted the one I had saved, and then saved it again as a new model. Guess what....didn't work and it reset again.

I don't think my editor is corrupted either seeing as I just edited about 5 other models to fix the passenger capacity to NWA specs.

--EDIT--

You aren't going to believe this. I got it to work.

What I did was take the default MD-11, change the background, etc, etc, and modfy it. Now it works.

I'm happy, but I think something needs to be tweaked in the editor down the road. Bug

--EDIT AGAIN--

Okay, now it doesn't. I didn't notice right away that the passenger fill wasn't correct...was putting 97 first class seats in. So, I switched it back to what it is supposed to be, and it corrupted it again...the payload model, the display, all of it. Rant

I'm starting to think this has something to do with the weight and that the payload editor automatically adjusts according to the points listed in the aircraft config file. Wonder

Maybe you can send it to me... I'll try it.

Or maybe you should reinstall FsP. Maybe something got corrupted...

Re: Payload Problems... - olseric - 24-08-2005

Okay, this is hillarious...

This was the problem. It would not allow me to put in 26 first/business class seats. 27 is okay, but nothing less.

Now it works. We have an extra chair, but it works...and close enough for me.

Thank you Pagir for your help.

Help?

I didn't help you.

You make it all by yourself
Applause

Don't forget to upload your payload model!!!
