Question for Dan or beta testers about Payload... - Tanz - 10-07-2005

Hi dan,

Sorry disturbing you again on this issue...especially at J+3....
There is something i need to know to create more payload models:
How is the FsP payload reacting with Fs....Because i've noticed that aircrafts (.ini files) doesn't match datas in corresponding aircraft.cfg
files in Fs...(stations positions)
Because it should load pax & cargo according to this file...otherwise, for example, if you're load is correct in FsP (within C.G limits), how
are we sure that it will be the same for Fs...??

Thanks for your attention...I don't want to make any mistakes on releasing payloads models on this website.

basically FsP detect the center position of the CG by testing quickly
(put weigh on various point then check CG after somes iteration the center
position is found)

Then the payload point are set at nn feet from this
points by the payload editor value...

usually the center must be around 1/3 of chord

hope it help some ?

Dan

ok...that's regarding the *.ini files used for the payload editor, isn't it?
May be i'm missing a point somewhere...but does FsP use the aircraft.cfg when you actually load it before a flight? I think it has
to...otherwise you won't have the same behaviour in flight, if it's loaded or not...
So in this case, the values for stations positions (in payload editor) should closed to the aircraft.cfg file...because Fs will use this one
during a flight?!

Thanks!

not at all, you can forget the aircraft.cfg, the station point
are changed "live" and taken only from FsP's payload model
not from aicraft.cfg...

Ok...So let's say that you made a payload model from real datas...but the aircraft you chose in Fs has very basic weight & balance (1
station only) ...What will happen?

Sorry harassing you with those questions...But i really want to make it right.

Thanks for your patience...

I have a similar question. The aircraft.cfg file for my Cirrus SR20 is a bit confusing when it comes to the CG and weight balancing areas.
I set it up where the passengers are at like 10/0 and the luggage is at -10/0, which makes it perfectly balanced front to back since the
center is 0/0. I haven't noticed any problems like this, the plane seems to fly as usual. Is this acceptable or should the CG be set up
differently for more realism?
