About FSP Transition Altitude - gfl1973 - 28-01-2016

Im on an African Tour and there is no option for Africa in FSP, for ex. Israel is 10500 ft.
I thinks it is not necessary selectables TA, there is too many around the world and we have the charts.
I dont understand how FSPTA works because if i go from point A to B , will be different TA, it is normal.
I have to fly over 2 countrys with the same TA? Can i change the FSPTA without penalty at departure and arrival (2 times in a flight)?
Ex. Spain TA = 6000=FSPTA1 to USA TA = 18000=FSPTA2

Linking the FSPTA to the FMC would be perfect.

I mentioned this to Dan. It doesn't make sense to have 1 setting, when transition altitude at departure can be different to arrival.

Hopefully he will consider changing it to fix this.

Hello, all,
I think, there is no solution of the problem yet, because it is not possible to give FSP different TA's for departure and landing. Or am I wrong?

You are correct...you can't tell FsP to set various TAs around the world. Most recognizable TA is FL180. Dan has never addressed it in past or future updates. If it's not suitable the way it is, you can certainly make sure you don't get a penalty for it by disabling the penalty.

Hello, Joeflyer,
thank you for your message. I thought that I had overlooked something...

Here is a relative newbie question.  Other than ATC communications being different, what is the purpose or changes with the transition altitude?

This is probably one of the better explanations for it:
