FSP freezes or stops responding frequently with PMDG - aussiesky - 17-04-2015
Hi, everyone,
i have been suffering this freeze issue since i start using FSP 2015. Every time when I click activity in 'company manager',
such as purchase new
airplane or repair airplane, my FSX(steam edition) would freeze (not responding) for a few seconds or a minutes before go
back to main menu, sometimes
not even go back to normal (completely freezed) so that i had to force shut down my computer. This situation also
occasionally happen during the
flight when i click 'display in flight report'. Have tried reinstall FSX and FSP, it didn't solve the problem.
I haven't seen anyone report this issue in forum so i assume that this is a rare issue. But it is really make me feel
frustrating as FSP is my
motivation to play FSX. Could anyone help please?
Btw, I have PMDG,Aerosoft, REX, GSX and other scenery addons installed. They are all running very well without similar issue
at all. So i think it s
nothing to do with my hard wares.

Hello,
Since you are using PMDG aircraft , did you update the fsuipc to the steam version?

No, I didn't install FSUIPC, is this compulsory for using FPS?

Hello, It could correct this issue. There have been issues with PMDG aircraft interaction with both steam and other third part add-on's. It might correct the issue.
If this does not work send us a copy of the FSP start up log so we can narrow this down for you.

Hi darrinward777. I already installed fsuipc latest version but the issue still there. I m gonna send my fsp start up log to you now, but where can I find this log? Thanks.

Please provide the log.txt and FsPinstall.log that are in the "C:\Users\Public\Documents\FsPassengers" folder.

We'll try something temporary:
Rename your dll.xml to whatewer, for example: dll_legacy.dll
Yours is located here: C:\Users\Stephen\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX-SE\dll.xml
Download this one below and unzip it at the same place: (ie: "C:\Users\Stephen\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX-SE\")
http://www.fspassengers.com/dll.zip
You'll have some other addons deactivated but it's just for test purpose.
Try FSX and let me know if the dialogs still freeze.

Hi Dan, Thanks for your reply. Just tried the way you introduced to me and no any luck. FYI, it only happened on PMDG models, default airplanes are
all fine. It also freezes when i click "record the flight" in final report after i finish a flight.

Just to confirm: during your test you had all the other addon deactivated ? (fsuipc etc)
-What PMDG do you have exactly ?
-Do you have by any chance an ATI card ?
-I had the report of someone upgrading his graphic driver for the latest version and all his problems are solved, can you try this please ? (It can't
harm anyway)
I had a tester with 777 and 737 on windows 8.1 during the beta test and all worked without problem (I cannot confirm if it was a legacy version)

-all the other addons AREN'T deactivated during the test even i strictly followed the steps you introduced.
-I m using PMDG 737NGX and 772LR latest version.
-My Graphic card are Intel® HD graphics 4000.0 and AMD RADEON hd 8500/8700 with latest drivers. However, in my graphics setting of fsx steam
edition, it only can detect my Intel graphic card rather than AMD card which is an issue has been confusing me for a long time.

The correct dll is probably here then:
