FSX fails to start - JaimeH - 08-03-2015
After a successful install, my FSX will no longer start. What happens is the FSX loading screen starts, the FSPassengers sound plays and thats it. Seems to be stuck on
the FSX loading logo.
I am updated with SP2. Standard boxed version.
If I uninstall FsPassengers, FSX loads fine.
Heres a couple logs:

It appears that something has corrupted the cfg in fsx (No config file - loading default Option) Of course it is well known about the Vista Problems. You might try a with
fresh cfg. I noticed you have FSX installed on drive F which I will assume is a separate drive for the program. Make sure you have windows set to show hidden files and
folders
Go to C: / users / your name or the computer name / appdata / roaming / microsoft / fsx
Once you open FSX locate the fsx.cfg file and delete it then close out and restart fsx. FSX will then create a new cfg and the program should run but bare in mind we are
talking about Vista here. I would check all the known issues with Vista and FSX and make the known standard corrections. dll errors were common with that OS. You also
might want to make sure you run as administrator / and set compatibility for windows XP operation. There is a well known CTD fix from a while ago on simivation for Vista systems: http://www.simviation.com/simviation/?type=item&ID=69&page=13 This was used to fix the fs-passenger issue

I don't think the "no config file" statement refers to the FSX.cfg, as the last entry in that particular section indicates, "Attempting to locate FsX.cfg
FsX.cfg found in:C:\Users\Jaime\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\fsx.cfg"
Since the OP is using Vista, this could be a uiautomationcore.dll issue. Jaime, have you put this .dll in the main FSX folder already? If you haven't
done so, you can search this forum for the .dll. Then I would suggest uninstalling FsPX (make sure the FsP folder has been removed from FSX), reboot
pc and then re-install FsPX. Run the FsPX executable as administrator. See if this works and report back.

The website I put in there is for the uiautomationcore.dll for Vista.
By the way I saw you in that FedEx simulator ( Pretty cool stuff!)

A reinstall of FsPassangers (then reboot) and then running both FsPassangers and FSX as Admin seems to help!

Nice Darrin...I didn't know the link was specific to the .dll
And, glad you liked the 777 sim pics. Haven't had the chance to do a MD-11 sim session yet
