Re: I am getting pretty angry now - jupster01 - 15-02-2015 No. Vanilla Deluxe Re: I am getting pretty angry now - darrinward777 - 16-02-2015 Wow, I never had this happen, I am using the Gold edition with acceleration. I know this is an old subject but have you installed SP2?. If this is the first time you are using FS-Passenger did you make sure it was the X version? I am not trying to insult you at all I am just curious. Re: I am getting pretty angry now - Joeflyer - 16-02-2015 Jupster, more information would certainly be helpful...in particular what darrin pointed out AND we need your pc specs. Re: I am getting pretty angry now - jupster01 - 17-02-2015 I have had FSP for years. I have never seen this pop up before. Had FSX Deluxe for years with Acceleration. Re: I am getting pretty angry now - darrinward777 - 17-02-2015 Hey, If you have been running FS-Passenger for years then there must have been a recent change within it. If you have downloaded some other third party software recently or made a change within your system, then something has corrupted the interaction of FS-Passenger. There have been reported issues of dll corruption caused by outside sources that I read about online and in forums. This usually happens after a download online and takes effect once the system is re-booted. I do a lot of freeware and payware downloading so I found that the combination of AVG and Malwarebytes works the best for detecting and stopping infections before they get in. Post Edited ( 02-17-15 04:24 ) Re: I am getting pretty angry now - jupster01 - 17-02-2015 I am gonna reinstall fsx and see what happens. Last major thing I downloaded was qualitywings 757 and the Honeywell FMC. It might have been been the FMC, cause it worked normally with QW757. I have my original fsx file backed up. Anything in there that can help?? Re: I am getting pretty angry now - darrinward777 - 17-02-2015 There is a way perhaps to avoid a reload of fsx, and that is to do the following: Go to C: Go to users Select your name or the name of the computer select appdata(Note if you do not see this file you must set show all hidden files and folders in your computer) select roaming select microsoft select fsx Once in fsx scroll down to fsx.cfg folder and delete it! Close and run fsx/ Once it reloads it will replace it with a new cfg file. You will be prompted with your add-ons to run them, select yes to all of them. Fsx will start like it is the first time you ran the program but you will not have to reload a bunch of add-ons again. I hope I was not too late getting this to you but it is still good to know in the future. Good luck, Darrin Post Edited ( 02-17-15 12:18 ) Re: I am getting pretty angry now - jupster01 - 17-02-2015 specs for computer Intel Pentium CPU G2030 @3 GHz 4 GB 64 Bit Oh....and reinstalling everything. Still a major failure. Same message Re: I am getting pretty angry now - jupster01 - 17-02-2015 Now its giving me a Fatal error code. This only happened when I installed FSP. I am totally lost on what to do next. Again, this has never happened before Re: I am getting pretty angry now - whiskey-zulu - 17-02-2015 What version of Windows are you running? Re: I am getting pretty angry now - jupster01 - 18-02-2015 8.1 Re: I am getting pretty angry now - darrinward777 - 18-02-2015 Hello again, First I assume you reloaded FSX Deluxe and if so did you place in the UIAutomationCore.dll patch? I did some research and found an old thread regarding fs-passenger and windows 8.1. In fact there have been many issues with FSX and windows 8.1. The UIAutomationCore.dll file is needed to run FSX with windows 8.1. I am surprised that you haven't had more issues before. You still need the HIGHMEMFIX=1 at least to prevent OOM errors. My advise is to not load any further add-ons for now. Get FSX to a default state and work on making sure the platform is stable. The Steam Edition of FSX is designed to work with Windows 8.1 and as you know Dan is working on a revised addition of fs-passenger, so I am sure that will make it compatible with Windows 8.1 Perhaps Joeflyer might know of a current patch for windows 8.1 but I did not see it during my research. It might be buried in an older thread somewhere. I would by happy to help you in getting FSX running stable. Just let me know PS: Get back soon because I am going to Colorado for 5 days leaving Thurs. Darrin Re: I am getting pretty angry now - jupster01 - 18-02-2015 I've had the UiAutomationCore.dll already in place. Trust me, I've had many more issues with win 8.1. I've tried every fix I can think off with still no success. I don't have any add ons on FSX right now, besides Acceleration. I'm still at a lost to how something can work so perfectly for years and then just stop working all together. I've look thru past threads and don't see anything relating to my problem. Hopefully, soon an answer will reveal itself |
