Fuel problem - Andre - 28-04-2014

I'm testing the fspassengersX demo, lot of fun but almost every flight I'm suddenly out of fuel.
KOAK - KSJC max fuel set (or 60% or whatever amount), nice flying and suddenly no fuel left ! and going down, grrr
Is this only with the demo?

FSX SP2 with windows 7 64 home.

Re: Fuel problem - Joeflyer - 28-04-2014

Sounds like to me the aircraft has been suffering a major fuel leak. Would be a good idea the keep an eye on the fuel gauge(s)....then land at the
nearest suitable airport if you notice one or more gauges going down fairly quickly.

No it's happening again and again, btw its the 737 800 in fsx itself the fuel is ok. And landing nearest suitable airport is very tricky when flying with ATC and all
traffic, tried that before Smile

Re: Fuel problem - Joeflyer - 28-04-2014

Default 737? If not, what addon aircraft are you using? If you are going from KOAK to KSJC, only 26nm, and 60% full of fuel, FsP isn't going to dump
out all 60% within 26 nm...that's for sure. I have used all types of addon aircraft and have never seen anything like you have described.
I never use default aircraft, so I don't know how they behave with FsP. Even if it is the case, this is a totally new one on me.

yes default. Just tried again, same short flight, now without fspassengersX demo. Double checked gauges, and with shift z, all ok no fuel leak,
happy ils landing, shoot me.

Re: Fuel problem - Jason - 28-04-2014

The demo has a warzone configured so people can try it out. Perhaps you were entering the warzone? Lots of sound effects occur
though, I think you'd of noticed.

Re: Fuel problem - Andre - 28-04-2014

@Jason, tnx, hehe I experienced that earlier but thats not the problem, btw good practise to safely land without hydrolics etc. Smile

I think, also for Joeflyer , I found the problem. Last 2 flights no more suddenly out of fuel.
Within FSX itself (settings/realisme) I enabled unlimited fuel, not very realistic, but it seems thats the solution.

KOAK - KBAB no problem with fuel Smile Only some birds who destroyed 1 of my engines but thats another story Smile

Keep you informed and tnx for thinking with me !

Re: Fuel problem - Andre - 30-04-2014

And again: Boeing 737 800 KOAK KPHX 80 nm to go suddenly (again) out of fuel.
Maybe FS Commander is conflicting with FSPX ?

OR:

Is it possible that I unwanted drop my fuel with some unknown keyboard command???

I'm getting quite experienced with emergency landings, last one in the dessert, all alive Smile

Make sure you have fuel reserves... also, the default 737 is quite unrealistic and I believe it holds less fuel, or at least consumes more than a
real 737. Take a look in the aircraft.CFG in your 737 folder.

I used to use FS Commander and had no such issue. Perhaps as a trial, try a different aircraft?

Re: Fuel problem - Andre - 30-04-2014

@Shaun Patterson, ok FSC is not the problem.

So now I think the problem accures when my atc window doesnt appear anymore. Normally with the Tilde key you can open or close the ATC window.
Sometimes, suddenly, it wont open anymore then you have to go to views and enable ATC view again and I think there goes something wrong
and I dump/drop all my fuel !

To determine if this is the real problem I gonna do 3 flights without ATC.
Inform you later and tnx !
