Windows 8 - Sciencechemy - 09-08-2013 Tips to whom it may concern about some bug fixes game compatibility and Windows 8. Flight Simulator X and Windows 8 1. Install as administrator; 2. Install SP1; 3. Install SP3; 4. Search and download from Internet this file: UIAutomationCore.dll; 5. Copy and paste UIAutomationCore.dll in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X or into where your FSX is installed; 6. Run the simulator. If you have any issue, run under compatibility mode choosing one of them until works without any issue. FSPassengersX and Windows 8 1. First of all I assume that you already installed FSX like written above. 2. Install FSPassengersX as administrator; 3. Run FSX and try to run FSPassengersX as well; 4. If you cannot load aircraft (passengers and fuel), run FSX in Windows 7 compatibility mode and as administrator. Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2010 and Windows 8 1. Install as administrator; 2. Download and install NFSHP_1000_to_1050 patch; 3. Run NFSHP. IF it crashes on “press any key”, do that: 4. Unplug your controller (gamepad, joystick, etc.); 5. Find and delete C:\Users\(...)\Documents\Criterion Games\Need for Speed Hot Pursuit\Save\Default\controls.NFS11Save; 6. Plug your controller again and run NFSHP. I hope I have helped. sciencechemy@yahoo.com.br Re: Windows 8 - Joeflyer - 10-08-2013 I don't have anything to add accept you may want to edit out your email due to spamming concerns. Just a friendly tip...no need to thank me ![]() Re: Windows 8 - Arnaldo Salgado - 23-08-2013 Quote:Sciencechemy wrote: Don't work with me... ![]() Re: Windows 8 - whiskey-zulu - 20-09-2013 It is likely that the majority of people here who are still flight simming are still using Windows XP, which the program was designed for. There are people who have been lucky enough to get FSP and FSPX to work with Vista and 7, but they were not designed to do so! If people manage to get it to work with Windows 8, then they are extrremely lucky, and it is unlikely that there will be any further development of the program to make it compatible with the newer versions of Windows that are available. Re: Windows 8 - Jason - 20-09-2013 Works just fine for me with no tweaking. The only thing I had to do was install the DX10 shader fix for FSX. Windows 8 x64 Nvidia GTX 760 Geforce Driver 326.80 DX10 shader fix from avsim FSX and FSPX both work fine with no bugs that i've found yet. Re: Windows 8 - Jason - 20-09-2013 Oh i did forget one thing. I kept getting FSX crashes and had to install the uiautomationcore.dll Re: Windows 8 - Arnaldo Salgado - 23-09-2013 I hate to pay for something useless... If this is the case someone must said that this program only works on Windows xp... The omission is a question of cheat the costumers... NEVER AGAIN! Re: Windows 8 - whiskey-zulu - 23-09-2013 There is both a sticky topic, and information available in the FAQ stating that the program was designed for Windows XP, and may work with Vista and Windows 7. Re: Windows 8 - Jason - 24-09-2013 It does work though, and with very little tweaking. I don't have anything special going, software or hardware wise. Make sure Windows 8 is updated fully (to include DX10 and .NET) Install FSX (I have mine to set to run as admin, I have not tested it to see if this is required or not) Install FSPX (runs as admin under fsx.exe) Then I had the FSX uiautomationcore.dll crash (not related to FSPX though), the fix is easy. Download (from tons of available repositories online) and then copy it to the same folder as fsx.exe. Then the shader fix was to resolve a bug with the progressive taxi, which can be found on avsim. Note, that it's still officially unsupported, regardless of my success or failure. If you are unable troubleshoot the game, go find a geeky friend that can read event viewer logs and help you out. It's not that hard though really. Re: Windows 8 - Blodhemn - 22-10-2013 I cannot even get FSPX to Install now I have bought a new WIN8 PC. I get the following info in the setup log. -FsPassengers setup ver.
