Crash to desktop - stefan.camilar - 27-11-2011

Hi,

I am using FSPass for about half year, I have done around 55 flights (2cAir is my company) and I'm very close to C9 level.

I for about one month I have a problem: crash to desktop when pressing any Menu button

- I have the payed version of FSPass
- I use FSX Gold with SP 2
- I am using default scenary, voices and plane (modified payload for 737) from the beginning
- I haven't done any video card upgrade since I am using FSPass, but the problem came after about 4 months since using FSPass.
- Basicly my computer is the same
- From about 3 months I am using only weather in real time (updating every 15 minutes).

My problem is when I press any button from menu bar, everything freezes and reset FSX. It's very frustating especially when is heappening
afer some hours of flight.

I checked the ideas on the forum but I cannot find anything to solve my problem, so I want to reinstall FSPass.

Can you tell me which files to save in oreder to have the same points, flights, planes after reinstall? Or do you have any other ideas to
solve this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Stefan

You need to copy the Database file. Here is where it lives.........start > programs > FSPassengers > open fspassengers file >database.
Just copy the database file to thumbdrive or disk and after reinstall simlply replace the old file into the new one. Easy cheesy. Beer

OK, thank you very much.

Re: Crash to desktop - stefan.camilar - 28-11-2011

Bad news,

I made a FSPass reinstall and the FSX doesn’t start anymore. If I uninstall FSPass, FSX is ok. I reinstall PSPass and not starting at all.
I've tried this two times with the same result Hunappy.

What can I do?

Stefan

Re: Crash to desktop - Joeflyer - 28-11-2011

Did you reboot your pc AFTER uninstalling FsPX? Also, are you running FSX in windowed mode or full screen?

Re: Crash to desktop - stefan.camilar - 28-11-2011

Yes, I have reboot the system after uninstall and reinstall. When I start FSX, after some second I can hear the welcoming message from
FSPass, but FSX doesn't start at all.

I am using FSX in windowed mode.

Thanks

Stefan

Re: Crash to desktop - Joeflyer - 28-11-2011

This is certainly strange. Usually windowed mode will work for those who have experienced problems after using full screen. Wait, are you using Win 7,
Vista or XP?

Re: Crash to desktop - stefan.camilar - 29-11-2011

Win XP 32bit, but there is no change in the system since I've installed FSPass

Re: Crash to desktop - Joeflyer - 29-11-2011

The only issue I had with FSX/FspX while using XP 32 bit was closing a flight or accessing in flight report while in full screen. Had to use windowed
mode before doing either one...otherwise FSX would crash.

Since you have uninstalled/re-installed FsPX and cannot get it to run properly, I have no clue on what's going on with your system. You indicated that
you have not updated video card drivers in a while. It wouldn't hurt to try new drivers. If that doesn't work, I'm all out of suggestions.

Re: Crash to desktop - stefan.camilar - 30-11-2011

Hi,

I updeted my video card driver last night. Not working. Without FSPass, FSX works perfect. With FSPass istalled, doesn't start at all.

Thanks anyway.

I'll try to escalate this topic.

Re: Crash to desktop - Joeflyer - 30-11-2011

The only other suggestion I can make is to contact Dan about this. Use the "Contact" tab at the bottom of the page.

Re: Crash to desktop - speako11 - 01-12-2011

I wonder what made it start happening all of a sudden? did windows install any updates automatically?

Could you not restore your system to a point where you know everything was working fine?

Re: Crash to desktop - stefan.camilar - 02-12-2011

Hi,

I had some automatic updates made in the last mounth, but I can't remember what was all about it...

Re: Crash to desktop - speako11 - 02-12-2011

Hi there,

Yeah well it could possibly be that, If I where you I'd restore the system, get rid of those updates and properly make sure everything is, as it was,

and also do you make a new flight plan each time? I've read elsewhere that doing this stops system crashes and since I started the habit I haven't had
one.

Re: Crash to desktop - stefan.camilar - 04-12-2011

Hi,

Yes I have a new flight plan each time I fly
