How is the "open door" event implimented? - chatman - 26-08-2005 Hi! Today I made aflight an instead of unloading the PAX through menu I opened the door to let them off the plane. Thereafter I started a new flight but forgot about the door. I realized it when upon takeoff roll the passengers fear rose and my Co pilot told me about it. I immediatly closed the door and it was shut before i was in the air. still my passengers were horrified and I had to declare emergeny and finaly got badly penalized. also the wind was blowing through my cockpit the whole flight. Now I understand that starting with an open door in a bad beginning for the fligh so passenger opinion and a penalty is justified. but is there a way to handle the event differently when on ground than in the air? I mean it was not as if I had pressed Shift-E at FL 350. In fact the flight itself was quite normal. Martin Re: How is the "open door" event implimented? - DBE - 26-08-2005 So, in other words, taking off with an open door is not as bad as opening it while airborne? ![]() Re: How is the "open door" event implimented? - chatman - 26-08-2005 Quote:DBE wrote: read my post again: i didn't take off with the door open - closed it still on ground. so technically an emergency declaration was not necessary but required by FSP Martin Re: How is the "open door" event implimented? - deejayc - 26-08-2005 Rolling down the runway with the door open isn't normal either though is it? Even if you do close it before you take off. Re: How is the "open door" event implimented? - chatman - 26-08-2005 i know ![]() but at least I didn't die ![]() |
