Airplane repair costs - Doc3511 - 04-01-2011

hi,
Im running an international airline with income multiplier by 10 but turns out that the 25hs repair cost for a 747 is 3 millions, if this keeps
up i wont be able mantain this aircraft because the income i get from that same 747 in 25hs flight time is about 3.1 millions.
making long flights is more expensive to me than regional flights. is this normal?

what would happen if income multiplier were set to REAL ( X 1 )... it would be impossible to mantain that aircraft in real life.
300.000 dolars real income - 3.000.000 dolars repair cost

now, ive came up with 2 solutions

1-buying a newer plane
2-raising the ticket prices

but thats not the point, what i wanna know is that is a normal issue with a 1300hs old plane or not

Longer flights are more expensive, and a 747 is a pretty pricy aircraft to run.

Doc, have you considered limiting your flights to around 1,300 nm? That seems to be the sweet spot for making lots of money with the 747...in
particular the PMDG and the payload models that are available in the more downloads section. I can make on average $30- 35 million with the freighter
and a little less with the pax version.

thanks for the answers,the problem was my ticket prices were low, and that was the first time i chose fiumicino as a destination
, therefore only 286 pax in the 747-400, and yeah long flights are not good in regards of fuel cost, at least not with the queen of the
skies.

747 is not the most eficient airplane out there ill give you that (fspax is surprising me with its realism every day).
nevertheless id like to know if repair cost are multiplied by the income multiplier too, because repair costs would be way too expensive to
cover..
