Error message "wrong authorization" - Ricky - 17-11-2010 Hi all Out of the blue I constantly get a 'Wrong authorization' message when using Fspassenger. I played the game for a long period of time without any trouble. This starts to get annoying, cause i've tried everything incl. the advise from the FSpassenger website and forum. It happens no matter if i use time accelerator or not. I've re-installed FSX and installed FSP with no addons, but result is the same. I run Windows 7 and FSX and Fspassenger is set to run as admin (i checked 50 times) I tried to reinstall and only copy the namedatabase to the new installation (I was told that I shouldnt copy the "bin" folder) I enjoy Fspassenger a lot, but this getting annoying and I can see many simmer experience the same issue. Anyone found some other solution for it? Cheers Re: Error message "wrong authorization" - Joeflyer - 18-11-2010 Ricky, this has been an ongoing issue for quite some time with folks using Win 7. I frankly do not have a clear solution for you other than asking if you have adequately searched the forum for a possible answer, as many people have posted about the same issue. Type in "wrong authorization" in the search field and see how many posts are there. Maybe you will find a potential solution that fits your situation. I am still running FSX and FS9 on XP 32 bit. I have not experienced those sort of problems with FsP or FsPX yet. Re: Error message "wrong authorization" - Ricky - 18-11-2010 Hi Joe I already scanned the net for possible solutions, but non of the advice seems to the trick. I run windows 7 64 bit. Don't know if that makes any difference? Dont have any problems when using XP. Really annoys me, coz i enjoy FsPassenger. Could you, as moderator, kindly ask the developer for a solution. Seems like a lot of simmer experience this problem and more will come, as more simmer upgrading to Windows 7. They would most likely experience this issue. Would be sad if simmers aviod this product because of this issue. Cheers Re: Error message "wrong authorization" - Joeflyer - 19-11-2010 Dan, the developer of FsP/FsPX has been made aware of the possible conflict with Win 7 , but I have to say, not every situation is the same. It's well beyond my ability to understand the workings of Win 7 and many addons out there. I am uncertain if there is any one particular thing Dan can do to solve the obvious problems, but as I said, he is aware of it. Lastly, I have no idea when Dan will come on the forum and discuss these issues. I hope it's soon. Re: Error message "wrong authorization" - Ricky - 22-11-2010 So far i've tried every advice i could find on this site and on the internet. So far nothing works. I followed the instruktions about re-installing it about 10 times. I removed FSX and made a fresh installation and installed FsPassenger without any addons Only copied the database, payload and sound folder after unlocking. Downloaded the game once more and removed the block and the game. everything is running as admin. Have no more clue what to do. Would be nice to hear something from the developer. Just something like; "Hey guys, I knows there is some trouble, im on it"! Insted of pure silence..... The game is excellent, but this bug makes it useless. Re: Error message "wrong authorization" - Joeflyer - 22-11-2010 I understand your frustration. I'm sure many others do,too. Dan has been advised but I have not heard anything from him. Re: Error message "wrong authorization" - Iuri - 26-11-2010 i'm tired of this Dan Steph and his silence, we are paying for it and we do not have any answer from him. if he don't want to help us so just give our money back because his software isn't working and it's very wrong to make money lying to the people. Re: Error message "wrong authorization" - Iuri - 27-11-2010 Yes, but like here he don't answered my e-mail.... Re: Error message "wrong authorization" - Joeflyer - 27-11-2010 Understood...unfortunately there isn't anything more I can add to here. Re: Error message "wrong authorization" - dragonfap - 06-12-2010 That`s not correct... You sold a product...you must find the solution...and the word you is for all of fspassengers workers... Re: Error message - whiskey-zulu - 06-12-2010 Dragonfap, I will say this publically. All Forum moderators of this site are volunteers who have been asked by Dan (DanSteph) who is the sole (only) developer and programmer of the software these forums refer to in content of the FS Passengers brand. You must realise that every computer when it comes to flight simulation is different and so in finding a solution to any problem can take months as it is not as simple as looking through lines of code; many factors have to be taken into account such as computer system specs (OS, hard drive capacity, RAM etc.), version of Flight Simulator being run on the computer and the combination of other external flight simulator add-ons that are being used with the simulator other than FS Passengers. When it comes to users of Windows 7 and Windows Vista, a forum memeber did manage to find a solution a few months ago when it came to issues with wrong authorisation, however in the past month it has become clear that that solution does not work for everyone. Why? We don't know; if we did know then we would be able to post a solution. As members and moderators of these boards, we are not paid and we do not spend all day, every day infront of the computer flying with every known flight simulator add-on installed on our machines; we hold down day jobs and fly when we can/ feel like taking some virtual passengers out for a spin. Furthermore, and it is not uncommon in this community (flight simulation as a whole) that much of the trouble shooting is done by those who buy and use the products on a regular basis. We also ask that all users of the fourm read and abide by the Forum rules which do state that before posting any new topic a search should be done of the forums to see if the topic has already been created. We do however enforce a necro-posting rule for threads that are over 1 year old, and any posts made to those will be removed and the poster who's post has been removed will be asked to start a new thread - reasons are explained in the mail that user receives. Re: Error message "wrong authorization" - Joeflyer - 06-12-2010 Maybe there is some hope here? http://www.fspassengers.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=8614 @ Dragon....send me a fat check if the above worked for you ![]() Re: Error message "wrong authorization" - Ricky - 07-12-2010 @whiskey-zulu I'm not blamming any of the moderators for this. In fact I think its a bit unfair of Dan (the developer) to dit back in silence and let you guys take all the complaints from users who bought this product and asking for support. When I had a problem with REX, i wrote to their support. 10 min after, they replied and ask me to give them some information. One hour later, i had mail in my inbox with a file attached to the email that solved the program. Brilliant!! If they cant solve the problem, they will tell you that and explain that they are working on it...... This problem with "wrong authorization" has been troubling users for a long time now. No matter the cause or solution, a word from the developer would be like reaching out to the buyers and maybe updating the FAQ site. I know this might be a difficult issue to solve and it might take a while to find the propore solution, but pure silence is a bit like saying "i dont give a s..t about you and your problem. You already bought the program. Re: Error message "wrong authorization" - Joeflyer - 07-12-2010 Ricky, did you see the above mentioned thread I linked to? |
