Drop Down Menu Error - Paul Lee - 05-07-2010

Hi There
I have a problem with the Demo Version of FS Passengers
I will list my system Spec at the bottom but tell you of the error here
As soon as I click on one of the options in the drop down menu within FSX the program freezes up, FSX and a Microsoft error report
comes up with no suggestion of what is causing the fault
All my other FSX menus work with no problem its only the FS Passengers one
I have read the many posts on the forum here and have updated The DLL and still it crashes
Could someone please further assist as I am really looking forward to using the excellent looking program
I have read the install log and all seems well there
I have re installed quite a few times now with no positive outcome

Many Thanks in advance

Paul E Lee

Tyr upgrading to Win 7 64 bit and see if the problem persists.

Re: Drop Down Menu Error - Paul Lee - 05-07-2010

Hi Many Thanks for the quick response
I have just purchased the PC and am not in a position to spend more in upgrading to 64 bit (wish I could)
Are there any other things I might try?

Best Regards

I'm not an expert on Vista or Win 7 - am still in the good old days of XP - but to my knowledge upgrading to 64bit or using FSX while using FSP in
windowed mode are the only two solutions.

If you are using the 32-bit version of Windows, the dll is not the problem.

That problem came up because the 64-bit dll of Windows causes a crash. This is solved by replacing it with the 32-bit version of the dll.

You shouldn't have to buy a different version of Windows, either. The problem here is that Windows doesn't give you enough information to know what
could be causing the crash.

Have you tried running FSX with different compatibility options? And always as admin, of course.
