Problem with Planes - Rigdonmg - 23-05-2010

Hi All,
I've had FS Passengers for awhile now and this problem has been happening all along, but it really is getting aggravating now.
When I first used FSP I had no idea how to use it so by accident I overloaded the 757 I was flying and it exploded on the ground. This 757
was a part of a large download of 757s, so now when I try to use any 757 from that pack as soon as the scenery finishes loading the
screen comes up and says I have crashed and it just keeps reloading the same screen not allowing me to even navigate around the
screen to investigate, so I have been unable to use those aircrafts AT ALL, not just in a FSP flight. Now, the last time I flew a 777 I crashed
and the same thing is happening to this aircraft too. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling FSP, but it still will not allow me to use these
aircrafts at all. Could someone please help!

Unistall the add-on aircraft, redowload them, and reinstall them and try a flight with each.

Re: Problem with Planes - Rigdonmg - 24-05-2010

I just deleted the add-on planes in the simobjects/airplanes directory, then I re-unzipped the downloaded 757 package file and moved the
files back into the directory. The game is still saying the aircraft is overstressed right as the scenery finishes downloading.

In which case, you have a problem with any of:
1) your aircraft.cfg file
2) your .air file for that aircraft
3) both.

Which version of flight sim are you running and which 757 are you running?

eeerrrr....don't you have the start FSP after the scenery has loaded.....It doesn't sound like it's FSP if the plane crashes after the scenery is
loaded. I have seen this when there are invisible collision at airports - sometimes caused by add-on airports loading over generic.

Try a different gate or start at the active runway for troubleshooting. If plane comes up as crashed when starting from the runway then something is
wrong with either the airport or the plane - best talk to their development team for resolution.

I have had occasions where my add-on aircraft contact points were in conflict with the airport elevation. In those cases I just don't use that
plane.

I am using FSX with the accelaration package and I am attempting to use the Project Opensky 757 package planes with the following
textures:
American Airlines
Continental Airlines
EL AL Airlines
FedEx Cargo
Northwest airlines
Transavia Airlines
UPS Cargo
United Airlines
US Airways
White livery

And I am also attempting to use the Project Opensky 777-200 United Airlines Livery.

It is FSP because it's the same text and same issues that happened in FSP. Also, I have started on Active Runways, at different Gates,
and at different airports and the same issue still happens, again this is when no FSP flight is even going on. Also, when I am just doing a
regular flight, not an FSP Flight, stuff that happens in FSP like the aircraft exploding when overspeed and crashing on the runway when
I'm going to fast still happens, unlike before I installed FSP.

Re: Problem with Planes - whiskey-zulu - 24-05-2010

Did you download from POSKY or another website?

I've never had an issue with POSKY aircraft downloaded and assembled fro their website. Last time I looked at POSKY's forums, the 757 wasn't fully supported in FSX with accelaration however.

This is definitely not an issue caused by FSP, but more likely incorrect data in the files I mentioned previously which are read by FSX first.

I downloaded it from another website, but they seemed to work fine until I crashed on FSP, same with the 777. Also, I just tried the 757 of
the POSKY website and it is not supported by FSX, I get no sound. If it is incorrect data files, for the package of 757s, do you know how to
fix it so I can use them again?

Re: Problem with Planes - whiskey-zulu - 25-05-2010

For the sound off the POSKY website, you'll have to download seperate engine sounds for the model of engine you use.

If it is incorrect data files then you'll have to use the ones direct from POSKY and work out which gates cause the crash problem.
