[Solved] Reverse thrust - 0Artur0 - 05-01-2010

I did a search but was unable to find anything even though I think I remember seeing this somewhere...
When I land and set reverse thrust (no autobrakes) it does set reverse thrust but I hear "Reverse thrust disengaged". When I
disengage reverse thrust I don't hear anything. Any ideas? I'm using FSPaX.

Re: Reverse thrust - Joeflyer - 05-01-2010

Does this happen on every airplane you use or is this really a big concern?? After all, if you pull the throttles out of reverse thrust prior to
reaching 60 knots, where is the issue? Or, is it that you just enjoy hearing the call? Just curious Wink

Re: Reverse thrust - Tracker801 - 05-01-2010

At least set your spoilers like any good pilot would do Wink

Re: Reverse thrust - 0Artur0 - 06-01-2010

It happens on evey airplane with reverse thrust.

Where is the issue? When I set the reverse thrust when I touchdown the co-pilot says "Reverse thrust disengaged". This is the issue. Would you be
happy if every time when you would turn on the lights the co-pilot would say "Reaching transition altitude" or when you'd be reaching transition
altitude he'd say "Don't sink"... you don't see any issues with that?

So, it's not the problem with software, it's me because I'm making issues where are none and I don't set spoilers like any good pilot would do, if I
understand correctly?

Re: Reverse thrust - gbapache - 06-01-2010

You are correct. With the proper application of brakes after the proper landing speed the use of spoiler will save on the wear and tear on
your engines. Remember, they are kind of important.

Re: Reverse thrust - 0Artur0 - 06-01-2010

Where did I say I NEVER use autobrakes?
I just pointed out that if you set reverse thrust manualy it says "Reverse thrust disengaged" which is wrong call but I guess when this addon has
problems it's not the problem of the addon but of the user... he's just to stupid to set autobrakes or maybe too weird that he's bothered with wrong
calls.

Re: Reverse thrust - iflyfsx - 06-01-2010

I'm not sure I understand. Does the reverse thrust actually disengage, or is that just the sound clip you hear? If it's just the sound clip, you can
probably edit the sound pack easily.

Re: Reverse thrust - whiskey-zulu - 06-01-2010

Have you tried a different sound pack? Also double check your key assignments incase there is a conflict causing the file to be triggered.

Re: Reverse thrust - JetlinerX - 08-01-2010

Here is what I got from the guy.

He lands, and hits "F2" (Or whatever his key is set to). He gets it active, then the co-pilot says "Blah blah blah". I do not think it turns off, I
think its just anoying for hm, and hes gona need to edit his sound pack.

Re: Reverse thrust - 0Artur0 - 08-01-2010

Ok, english is not my first language but I think my second sentence was quite clear...

When I land..... and set reverse thrust (no autobrakes)...... it does set reverse thrust...... but I hear "Reverse thrust disengaged".

So, reverse thrust is working OK, it's the callout that is wrong. It happened out of the blue and it's happening ever since.

The thing is I never touched the sounds, but it looks like I'm the only one with this problem so I'll try to figure it out myself. Thanks anyway.

Re: Reverse thrust - whiskey-zulu - 08-01-2010

So, have you tried using a different sound/voice pack to the one you're currently using? It may just be that the voice pack that you're using has
been configured wrongly.

Re: Reverse thrust - 0Artur0 - 09-01-2010

Thanks whiskey-zulu, I tried changing soundpacks (I choose different one) and now it works! Problem solved!

Re: Reverse thrust - whiskey-zulu - 09-01-2010

Glad it was as simple as a dodgey soundpack. If you're able to say which one it is, and whether it's an original, extra download or homemade one, one
of the computer types may be able to have a look and make it work proper, though I can't guarantee anything on that front.

Re: Reverse thrust - 0Artur0 - 10-01-2010

It was original one "Brad and Adrienne". I changed it to "David and Lauren" and it works fine now. At first this one with funny comments was active
but I changed it to Brad&Adrienne. But I don't know when exactly this problem started... maybe from the moment I changed it but I didn't notice
immediately.

Re: Reverse thrust - Recon - 15-01-2010

So as I understand we can mark this one as solved ? Wink
