Small arms fire over London - Nordic - 18-08-2005

I just had my first emergency with fspassengers, which frankly surprised me in good sort of way. I am at 2500 feet in pmdg 737-700 on
localizer intercept course for rw 27R at Heathrow when I hear a strange noise. I think, what the hell is that?? It sounds vaguely like
pounding. Then it dawns on me that some dingbat is shooting at me like he was at the shooting gallery on a Sunday morning, just
having a good-ole' time!! Right after I know that I am being shot at, I loose engine #2. After a moment of disbelief, I turn off cutoff valve,
pull #2 throttle back, turn off a/t, start apu and put it on the busses. I forgot to shut off right packs, ah well. Amazed I remembered
anything at all! Oh and there was less then 2 nm visibility. I am still on autopilot which quickly fails to line me up so I turn it off and land it
very very very very barely. The crab is ridiculous because for some reason unkown to me now I didn't correct with rudder (it's late....yeah
right nice excuse Smile But I land with the right back wheel just on the runway. whew!!! Cool. All I could think about was, my company
doesn't have enough money to buy a new 737 so I HAVE to land and walk away with plane somewhat intact which really gave me an
incentive to not just give up and say "goodbye cruel world, goodbye, I love you mom"
All in all, good fun.

I know: Checklist!!! I didn't want to hit pause and go get it, so I did what I could remember! Bad Bad Bad Smile Once in Austria I asked for
directions, and this man looked at me like I was an idiot and asked: "Vhere iz your map??" Me: "Don't have one" He: "You should alvays
travel viz your map!" Then he walked away. Well, I guess the same goes for checklists.
