[Solved] Pilot points suddenly disappeared - hjxbf - 02-04-2009
Hi!
I've been using FsP 2004 for quite some time now on FS9. Recently, however, I switched computers, from an XP laptop to a Vista
desktop. Installed FS and FsP, running it as an admin, and then copying my old FsP database files into the fresh installation, so I could
continue my careers. Everything seemed fine, all companies, planes and flights were right were I left off, but all my pilots' points had been
reset to zero. As I'm playing career mode, the subsequent flights degraded my pilot ranking pretty fast (I have a backup of the files before
these new flights in case someone has a solution), which is really frustrating. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it possible to
restore my pilot points in some way? I have the latest FsP version.

If your pilot reached the maximum level (23), you encountered the "C23" bug. Do you remember what the rank was?

I was C10, and the points disappeared when I moved the files from my old computer to my new one.

Is it possible you didn't get ALL the database files copied? Just to be sure, try checking the dates on the files.

Yes, all the files are copied and from the same date. If there is a possibility to manually edit the points within one of these files (maybe
Dan has to do it, since he knows the contents best?), I'll be happy to do the math!

Reading some other threads about faulty update links (everyone gets the august 2005 version), I checked to see if that happened here as
well. Apparently it has, which means that I'm definitely not running the latest version at all. The version I was running earlier was newer
than august 2005, but I don't recal which one. Could it be a problem with backwards compatibility of the database files?
EDIT: Saw Dan had updated the download links. I'm now running the september 2005 version, and all the pilot points are restored!
