Jump not allowed ... but all I did was watch a Replay - Libertine - 24-12-2008

OK, first off, lemme say, i love this Addon, truely awesome and way ahead of Xpax.
Anyway, i stumbled into a small problem...i just did a Flight from Paris to Brest in rather nasty Weather and after the landing(which went very smooth
for my standards...) i wanted to watch a replay of it. k, so i jump to the replay and the mini window says FSP paused for replay or something.
anyway, i hit Esc to End the Replay and all of a sudden i get the message "Jump not allowed, FsPassengers flight canceled"...

mhhhh "bug"...

I'll see that for patch but I'll maybe simply disable the replay. you must first end the flight then you can do the replay.
I don't think replay and monitoring of flight is very compatible...

Cheers

I'm not sure if thats the best thing to do Dan. It may be better to just add a note saying that there is a chance that the FspX flight will be
cancelled when selecting replay. I have replayed many times without issues and I know that there are people who wouldn't want to wait
until they get to the gate with their parking break on and door opened to start a replay. What do you think?

My 2 cents,

Disable replay during a flight. Can watch a replay after a flight but not during. Too many 'situations' & 'bugs' if you stay like that.

An other idea : Like Jeff said : Just add a note in the FAQ : At your own risk if u use replay during a flight ...

Re: Jump not allowed ... but all I did was watch a Replay - Libertine - 04-01-2009

err, it seems to me that this isnt only related to replays. i played a lot the last couple of days and had that "jump not allowed" error occur
multiple times...
some examples...
1) and this is becoming a bit tedious ... when i enter the FSX Map to look up a Radio Frequency or something similar, i hit abort at the map and i get
the Jump Message
2) Simply fiddling around in the weather dialog ... it didnt even reload and still got the Jump Messages
now this doesnt happpen everytime but only sometimes so i dunno, maybe FSPassengers looses track of the plane when i enter the menu and then when i
exit menu it shows up at a different loc and its considered a Jump ?

Usually, it can happen when the computer can't handle all the infos.

Were you using time acceleration?

Re: Jump not allowed ... but all I did was watch a Replay - Libertine - 04-01-2009

hmm, not that i recall, i usually only use the maps during landing but ill give it a try with and without acceleration.

I got it yesterday as well - I don't remember what key combination I used but FsPx just said jump not allowed and shut down - I wasn't trying to jump
anywhere though.

Re: Jump not allowed ... but all I did was watch a Replay - Libertine - 05-01-2009

well, it seems that this problem with menus and jump was indeed caused by time acceleration, been flying for a couple of hours yesterday and opened
the map numerous times and nothing happened, so thats that cleared up :-)

i did encounter a different issue tough ... again with jump. was making an ILS approach to Stockholm Arlanda and out of the blue i get the jump
message ... this was without acceleration(as a matter of fact no acceleration use at all during that flight), no switching to menus, nothing.

I've run into the same problem, but not with replays. I've made LONG flights (LLBG->KEWR) and used time acceleration, not touched the
menus except to change it from 16x to 8x, and I get the same "Jump not allowed...." message. It's started to get on my nerves since it
usually happens toward the end of the flight when I'm either turning off time accel. or turning it down so I can contact ATC and not have my
IFR plan canceled because of my inability to respond in time. Flying 4500 nm and having the flight get canceled at TOD is unnerving. Out
of all of the long or ultra-long haul flights I've attempted with FSpX, I've only completed one so it seems as though I'm relegated to short or
medium distance routes. I never had this issue with the FS2004 version. I've also had this happen during "normal" time when I was
flipping switches during descent.

I frequently replay before the end of flight with no problems. The other day, however, I did experience an issue following replay that's not related
to "Jump not allowed".

I parked at the gate, applied the parking brake, opened the door, and started a replay. After canceling replay, my passenger satisfaction dropped to
0% and fear was almost 100%. I don't know what happened, but it was obviously quite traumatic for them! Bug

Re: Jump not allowed ... but all I did was watch a Replay - Joeflyer - 30-04-2009

I've been using FSX more this week and found that I cannot replay a flight with FS Recorder module...after ending a FsPX flight. I can,
however, replay a flight if I don't use FsPX. It seems after I end a FsPX flight, FS Recorder resets to zero seconds. Don't know why but it
happens. I haven't tried any other replay method.
